I was in Lexington, KY today and stopped by at Bud's flagship store. Figured that I would post a little ammo porn:

Best estimate is 70,000 rounds at 50 cents per or $35K worth of 9mm.

My local Scheels had a bunch of that on the shelves the other day for $42. Still pricey but better.

OK, so I like you guys...but apparently not that much...

Over the past few days I have been slowly buying two cases of 9mm at an average price of about $16/box (pre-S/H/tax). Sure, it is still twice as expensive as it ought to be, but that was my magic buying point to at least start to restock the hoard.

Academy Sports has been allowing 4 boxes of whatever is available for home delivery. They have had a lot of CCI aluminum cased stuff for $15 and brass for $16-17. I could usually get 8 boxes a day. $8 shipping for practically anything (I added some .223 sometimes when it was $12/box).

I also stopped by the retail store a couple of times and got more CCI aluminum cased stuff for $15, but they only allowed 4 boxes total, not of each type like online.

Anyway, now that I got mine, good luck...

Browning and Herters have joined the Winchester 9mm recall, which means that they were just remarked WWB.

Check your lot numbers.

9mm is now readily available, it seems, but still almost double the "normal" price. Stopped at the LGS today and they had full shelves of 9mm, cheapest was ~$20/box of Blazer and Magtech.

Biden just banned Russian ammo.

I don't use it, but it will have the effect of raising (or keeping high) all other domestic ammo as there will be much less competition on the low end. This will cost shooters millions in extra ammo costs.

What's next?

Yeah, it was painful but ran to Scheel's last night to grab some 7.62x39. Went back this morning for 2 more cases and they only had 6 left from the 50+ that there there last night. $.42/round after taxes is stupid but I don't think it will be any cheaper for years.

I don't buy alot of Russian ammo, but this will have an affect on everything else. I honestly don't know how to pull myself out of this firearm depression I'm wrapped up in. Current events (last 2 years) have dealt a heavy blow to my life morale. :-(

And just like that, WWB at Target Sports USA is $1/round.

As of this second, Academy has a number of brands at $15-18/box (limit four per brand, so maybe 12-16 boxes per day) PLUS cases of Rem 115gr at $370 (limit four per day), which is about $18/box.

https://www.academy.com/shop/browse/out ... %20%3E%200

Shipping is a flat $8. (Their free shipping for over $25 of product doesn't apply to ammo, so no need to join their system, guest mode is fine.)

Best deal on mail order that I have seen on a while, only 2x the regular prices...

$300/case with free shipping Black Friday sale (on now).

I used them once so far for a case of this exact 9mm. Went through 300 rounds yesterday, one solid primer strike that didn't go bang. Reinserted into the mag and it went off the second time. If I recall, it was a P80 G19 (which is typically very reliable). Will buy it again. FWIW.
