And secondly: what shops on line have them? I haven't found one in stock yet.

I think they are a rarity right now. I'm sure I'll add one to my collection some day though.

Yes, real pricey on Gun Broker at the moment. First run mania.

Gunbroker currently has four dealers with them. BIN price on all of them was $750.

I randomly ran into someone who has one and got to shoot it over the weekend. He may possibly be a member here and can speak up.

My take: it is super nice. It looks cool, is very polished looking. It feels really similar to the SFX. Honestly, with the mods available for the SFX, if you have yours tricked out, there isn’t a reason to rush to get a Rival but it does have better ergonomics across the board. The slide is much easier to get a nice grip on, the mag opening is like the Mete so that is also superior to the Gen 1. The flat trigger really felt much like my Freedomsmith trigger, very very nice.

I plan to get one because my SFX has got a LOT of miles on it, but I will probably wait until people figure out all ways to tweak it for max performance and until there are aftermarket things like heavy weight back straps, etc.

I did find that it would not fit into my SFX holster if anyone is curious about that.

Taylor Freelance says their backstrap for the Mete also works on the Rival. Just an FYI... Also, I think W74 has a guide rod for the Rival, too. Mag base pads carry over, I think. Personally, I don't see any reason to wait - other than I can't find one available right now. I'd like to get a Rival, mainly for the better ergos. Then my TP9SFx could be my backup - and maybe shoot it in Production, if I ever have a chance to shoot 2 guns in one match (my local IPSC match doesn't allow shooting more than one gun because it fills to capacity every month, as it is).

I found out the Rival and SFX stock recoil assemblies are the same. We'll see if there are any ammo hiccups down the road for the Rival.

Was this due to the ambi slide release? That would be the only thing I'd think that was that different.

As soon as I receive mine I am going to try it in my Smoky Mountain holster, there is a little bit of adjustment play so we will see.

I have 2 rivals. The Darkside and the grey. They don't fit any of my SFX holsters. They run great except thr Darkside has a really grutty trigger

Picked mine up today. With a little hair dryer action and some bigger rubber washers my OWB from Slim Fit would certainly work in a pinch - the original SFX holster that comes with it fits as well.

I’m confused on which holster it fit for you. I have a Smoky Mountain and I couldn’t get it to fit. Did your fit your SMC holster?

Ordered one this morning. Should be at my FFL by Thursday! Also just ordered another SRO to plop on top. Almost cost more than the gun. Does the W74 guide rod from the regular SFX fit or is the Rival one shorter?
