OK, here we go! Shot a USPSA match today. I'M STOKED, 36 out of 37 but I don't care. I'm having fun, I'm outdoors, guns are blasting all around me and, I'm blasting away too. I've only been at the comp stuff for about 2 months. My times are killing me but they will get better with time (I guess it's better with less time).

This is my first time out with my new video set up. I didn't know if it would work or not. You should be happy I found a free video editor (VideoPad) as I kept forgetting to stop the recording.

So, with further ado, here are today's stages. EDITORS NOTE: No cats were harmed in the making of the videos.







OK, they tricked me on this one. Seven targets, one shot each, reload and shoot the string again. You will notice how low the bottom three targets are. A 6'4" person with a fake knee and multiple back surgeries doesn't just bend over that far. Oh, and the second string you had to be on one knee to shoot it. $#@% heads!
Seeing as the first string was "shooter's choice" you will notice the altitude drop on the start signal. I shot both strings from one knee. Now getting back up, was a whole different problem.

USPSA is definitely geared towards the younger crowd!

This it the "TICK TOCK" Classifier 13-05. I posted that one on the previous page. NICE JOB!!!

It's like anything...the more you shoot, the easier the the stage planing gets, and you'll see your times improve. The best way to start is to worry more about your accuracy and engaging all the targets. Looks like you're taking the right approach.

Shot a "Steel Challenge" this morning. It was my second and they are a blast!

Had a "BAD" video day!!! Didn't get any POV video, as I was pressing the "Mode Button" instead of the "Record" button!!! Also my GoPro crapped the bed after the first video. I formatted the card before leaving this morning and it's stuck displaying "FULL" and won't record. Oh well...just one of those days...but I shot well.

The most important thing is to not miss your first target...you can see if you do, the rest gets choppy. You definitely loose your rhythm !!!

While the stage videos can be fun to watch, they can be a great tool to look and see what is actually happening. I've been using Adobe Premiere Elements for a while now and really like it. It's a pretty powerful editing software program for around $100. Being able to zoom and time stretch are a couple things I use a lot.

The videos are better when viewed on YouTube as you don't get all the "graphics" blocking the text. That's why I just added the links.

Here I'm really looking to see how the gun is tracking. I chose a good run so there we're any screw-ups to mess with the flow transitioning from target to target. Here it is at full speed...
