Stimulus Check - What are you buying?

Post by Janik » Thu Mar 26, 2020 7:02 am

When you receive your stimulus money next month, what are you planning to buy? As much as I'd like to add some new guns to my collection that I've been wanting awhile, I suppose I'll be responsible and add some tools that I've been eyeballing. Working on RV's, there's always tools I could use to make my job easier, or faster. Milwaukee has released some new tools that I've been wanting to add to my tool chest, so I'll probably invest my money in my job. I've also been wanting to get a decent helmet camera for my helmet at the fire department. So that's pretty much where my money will probably go. As much as I've been wanting a PCC, it's going to have to wait till work picks up again and the funds are available. Personally, I think they should of just given us working stiffs a tax break for the rest of the year instead of a check. But, it is what it is. What's everyone else's plan for spending their stimulus money?

I talking to the Mrs. about giving it to our kids or somebody else in the family who is impacted more than we are.

Don't get me wrong, I am no saint. We are good financially and others are much worse off than we are.

But, if push-came-to-shove, a reloading press with all the bells & whistles.

New car toy and repair the old to resale and reinvest. Hopefully restock on ammo and get a few more mags.

Fortunately my wife and I won't qualify to receive anything. as @LT USN (Ret.) said, if we did we would most likely send it to our local woman's shelter and food bank... Our church sponsors them and with everything shut down they are hurting for supples and cash.... Some of my wife's fellow employee's got furloughed yesterday for at least 12 weeks... So far her job seems to be stable, but as we all know can turn on a dime...

I will be buying reloading components. Mostly 9mm bullets, powder and primers.

That entirely depends on the status of my employment. My company hasn't been in good financial state for a while, and it's even worse now. Some locations are closed, with most employees working from home. Wouldn't be surprised if we don't recover from this one.

I would like to get a new handgun (Sub Elite or PPQ SC) but that would be after things improve. And dealer stock status gets back to normal.

Otherwise, it's most likely going into the bank, to use for groceries and to pay bills.

Well.......IF fancy Nancy and oh shuck Chuck don't get in the way....the first ck will pay for a pair glasses and a tooth.
And, IF......there is a 2nd ck- I am not sure what I'll spend it on......but rest assured it will be spent wisely. Might save it for a rainy day.

Supplementing the house repair/maintenance budget. There's a couple of bigger ticket things we need to get done. Might also add to the "buy my wife a car that's less than 10 years old" fund. It's starting to nickel & dime us and the AC blower just cut out. It doesn't seem to be a fuse and I haven't had the time to explore more deeply.

PSA AK is still at the top of my list I dont own an American made AK yet, other possibilities I keep toying with the idea of getting back into the fish hobby but have managed to avoid doing so, also have been getting pressured by a few buddies to get a dirt bike or atv.

Dang!....hope my previous post didn't kill the thread.

Okay......I might buy some more ammo, and maybe a new gun.

I wish Canik would make a compact in the DA model....maybe 3.25" bbl and about a 12 round mag. I would probably buy one of every color.

Squid,

If you decide to get a dirt bike, let me know & I’ll help you out.

I’ve been riding & racing dirt bikes for about 50 years! Still have 4 of them. :-O

I really like the Elite size, but..... I don't know that I'd buy every color. Tungsten is nice.
