Stiker Fired Convert

Post by deserttrans » Wed Jan 15, 2020 1:37 pm

Older guy here, 70 plus years. Have been into 1911 platform for to many years to remember. I just sort of stumbled on to the striker fired pistols last year and marvel at the ease to repair and modify them. My first was a Sig P320 VTAC. I then came across the Canik line, did some research. Being quite fugal (some say a tight wad) I have picked up a few now and still look for more. Hard to believe the value in the Canik line and the quality. Below is the three I have now and with the mod's I have done (with the help on this forum) and including the accessories there is less than $1200 in the three. Happy old man :-D .

Best "BANG" for the buck out there!
My Canik lineup consists of the SFx, Elite Combat and SF Elite. Great guns!!!!!!

Welcome to the world of Canik......
It was the DA model that really relaxed my attitude towards striker guns. Also, don't overlook Caniks hammer fired guns. I have the C-100 and its an excellent handgun. Only mod was to change out main spring (hammer) to a 13# (I believe)- now it has a perfect DA/SA pull.

I am looking for a EDC in the Canik line now. A lot to choose from. Which is good.

Everyday carry it would be hard to beat the elite or elite sc.

Elite is one of my two main EDC guns. Plenty of holsters available. I have two - the Clinger Ultra Conceal (OWB - an older model), and a newer RedX Gear Expert (OWB), with the mold for the Olight Baldr Pro. I really like this one, as it holds tight to the waist, is very comfortable, and not through the roof in price for a light bearing holster. Pretty decent Level-1 retention holster, for sure.
My wife will get her Elite SC for EDC as soon as the tax return arrives. I may be more excited than her! :P

Best of luck,

I am reading up on the Elite SC. Will try and handle one this week. So far the trigger and the capacity is a plus. Seems a little on the heavy side for a EDC. Maybe more like a compact than sub compact?

I'd can't wait to shoot my wife's side-by-side with the Springfield Hellcat and the Sig P365XL. I've had so many people say that the latter two shoot pretty snappy - which I concur may be subjective. The SC feels better in my hand and hers in comparison, but we have shot none of the three to date.

Hope to hear the report. I am also looking at the Sig 365 standard (non XL).

You're right. The Canik line is incredibly high in quality and low in cost. Very rare!

Please let us know how they all feel difference wise, as they somewhat compete with each other and I’ve heard the same about the 365. A comparison review would be a good thread to start!
