Sig p365 SAS

Post by C wordLover » Tue Oct 01, 2019 10:06 pm

Am I the only one that wants to get ahold of this one. I wanted to put that sight system on my DA, now that they’ve cut into the slide to place it I have new goals in life.

I'm interested in the sighting system. This is why I'm not jumping to buy all new guns with red dot optic cuts. I think over the next few years sighting systems are going to go through several changes and something like this is preferable to me. I do have red dots on some guns, but for conceal carry, I prefer no red dot due to size and I'm still faster with irons on target. I know, that comes down to training, but I also don't completely trust sighting systems with batteries on a handgun. If I'm not mistaken, this sight has been available for awhile as a dove tail mount. It'll be interesting to see how well this is received by the gun community, but I do think over the next few years we'll see more innovation regarding sights on handguns coming to market.

Yes, the sight has been out for a little while now. I’ve been keeping an eye out to see if they go on sale. Probably not anytime soon now that sig is mounting them. I like the recess look though, do you think it’s possible to drop it in a Canik slide?

I just saw Galloway Precision did a mill cut on a DB9. Looks sweet. I may have this done on one of my Caniks.

The aftermarket version on Amazon has decidedly mixed reviews.

I really want that slide assembly to put on my 365XL frame for carry. Smoother slide for concealment, better grip for control, win-win

I have a NRA edition p365 that I've been trying to warm up to for the last 3 or 4 months and it isn't working out the way I hoped it would. So when my local range had a Sig demo day this Friday and Sat. I gave the P365 SAS a try along side my own p365 and I came away unimpressed the SAS is snag free and has a bit less recoil but for me and all of the older shooters I talked with the sighting system is less accurate than the standard sights and is at best point and shoot in low light. They had targets set up at 5 yards for us to shoot and most of the P365 SAS shooters were not able to hit the target 20% of the time. I also miss the night sight feature I count on to find my pistol at 3:00 AM when something wakes me up from a sound sleep.

I shot the SAS the other day. My grouping was horrible. I don't see myself getting it anytime soon.
