Hello from Central Kalifornia

Post by onthescrews » Wed Aug 14, 2019 5:37 pm

I picked up new Elite-S from FFL today ant off to the range I went...man what a sweet pistol!

I have several favorite pstols but after only 3 mags with this Canik...it is definitely a keeper/favorite!

I want to thank the members of this forum for already helping...what I thought was a problem with the slide intermittently failing to lock back on last round.

An interweb search led me here and to the solution; it was the "nut behind the wheel"...me riding the lever!

Thanks all,
Tom

Welcome, and congrats on the Elite. The Elite was the Canik that finally pushed me to eliminate my Glocks and M&P's. It's just an awesome gun to shoot, and it's a friggin' laser beam. But yes, the RSA is a bit stiff in a new Canik, and a little break in with hotter ammo will loosen it up. I generally shoot a couple boxes of NATO in a new Canik, and then it will eat the weaker ammo I shoot.

I'm curious. I didn't think that Caniks were on the Commifornia approved gun list. I have to move to the bay area for 6 months for work. I figured I'd do some trigger jobs when I was bored. So I can bring them along?

Oh, welcome by he way :)

Canik offers 10 round versions, I wonder if those are CA compliant.

Yeah, my recent purchase of the DA came with the 10 round mags for this purpose. However, when talking to a guy in CA he said the guns must also be on their approved list. Looking at the links below, I don't see Canik or Century Arms listed unless I'm missing it.
