I tend to like my 1911s on the simple side.

The Fusion (wooden grips) was one I built from a fitted slide, frame and barrel to be my pistol for Service Pistol matches in the Navy. (I also would use my Beretta in some matches.) The rules are pretty strict on it staying very close to military issue configuration, except for mild trigger work, target sights and match barrels.

The Springfield Armory, was a pawn shop parts rescue. I picked it up as a box of parts. Grips, grip screw bushings, grip safety, front sight, barrel bushing and trigger were all missing. Left me some room to configure it based on the old USMC MEU(SOC) 1911 rebuilds.

I have owned many 1911's in my +70 years and they are fine guns but all needed some TLC I still own a 30 year old colt that I'll never part with. I must admit I love the old Colt and it's 2 1/2 lb. trigger but my CZ 97 is softer shooting and just as accurate.

I just found a lightly used RIA with compensator. It’s one of their higher end models. They only want $450.00 for it. I just bought my new Shield, but 450.00 for a nice compensated RIA may be to hard to pass up

Switched things up a bit. Carry rotation except the Kimber. She’s a safe queen.

Love the soft, black finish with "grape" colored grips. Can't take my eyes off of that beauty!

Aren’t those just bad Azz! I wasn’t sure at first but I love them.

I have another set on the way albeit different style. These are VZ Walkure Worple on the heavily modified 38 Super. The Hyena Brown on the 45. I’ve ordered six pairs of different grips from them.

The stock grips on top and then with the pachmeyer grips. Out the door for $475.00. Still have case and everything that came with it.

Right at 150 rounds through it, ambidextrous safety, 1 magazine, red dot is cheap but works, also comes with regular sights.

A question here, I am very pro 1911 and have 6, several high end as they say, rarely do you see a STI get much, mentioning yet mine and all I know are trouble free and shoot with any of them mine sure will, hate to see production stopped after all this time but they are a very solid 1911 with a lifetime warranty . Mine was $778 in my hands new and just plain works. 1 broken slide stop since new and countless 1000's of trouble free rounds since late 80's customer service as good as it gets if ever needed.

I’m not aware of any RIAs that came with comps. I’d be concerned about someone putting a crappy drop in bushing comp on one.

Comps don’t seem to do as much for the low pressure .45 round.

Yea, I’ve had time to do some research on bushing comps and came to the same conclusion. But you can’t deny the “cool” factor :-D
