Well I’m impressed! What a nice sight.

With the tall front sight I believe this will co-witness perfect. The only question is circle/dot or dot.

I’ll torque it down in the AM.

I like it however it comes down to where the dot hits the front sight after adjustment.

I agree, circle and dot combo I think is what makes this optic so good. Using the large outer circle helps the distraction of the jittery dot and helps keep it steady. Just my opinion with limited time behind it on a range rental last week.

For me it's acquiring the target time. Finding just a tiny dot has been my biggest problem. Big circle leads to the little dot and, the bonus points are for the fact that I don't have to wear my readers to see it.

For any interested, I just picked one up from Botach for $230 shipped. After some previous comments in this thread, I returned my purchase to Optics Planet ($270) and I was hoping that The Gun Dock would restock as someone picked one up for $226.

Oh, you have to register for an account and login to see the price. $229.95 and free shipping.

Shared deal on gun.deals so get one quickly if you want one.

I am sad to report the demise of my 507C. :((

During a trip to the range the reticle kept going on and off, the controls wouldn't work (or sometimes worked backwards) and, when placed under a bright light, the reticle still wouldn't light up. It was a fresh lithium battery so I ruled that issue out. I'm guessing 2,000-2,500 rounds were shot with it mounted and it was used in a handful of comps.

Holosun was VERY quick to send me an RMA with shipping included. I received it the same day I reported my problems. Estimated turnaround time is 10 days; two days shipping 4-6 days testing and two days return shipping.

I'll post back once I get it, or a replacement, back. If it has batteries or wheels, it will break at some point. :-

I’m sad to say that this is exactly what I’m going through with my 508T GR. It went south on it’s maiden voyage. It’s in Holosun’s hands as we speak, they got it last Friday. I’m hoping their customer service comes through. I had a terrible time getting my RMA due to some type of server issues they claimed they weren’t receiving my emails and their RMA page online was going through updates about 10 days ago. The sight would just black out when the slide recoiled. Occasionally I could tap it and it would come back on and other times no soap. If I let it sit it would come back on for a few rounds and then repeat. I’ll be interested in hearing how yours is handled.

I got a 507C with green reticle. I really like it! Specially since I learned how to switch from dot & circle to just a dot.. the circle was screwing me up a lil but I think I’m the minority on that..

INTERESTING THING HAPPENED ON THE WAY TO THE RANGE

Post by LT USN (Ret.) » Fri Feb 21, 2020 5:31 am

Holosun 507C is still out for repair so I threw the Warren rear sight back on and went shooting. I had added the W74 guide rod with a 13# Commander spring from Wolff and wanted to test fire it.

Very interesting results (see the picture below). Target was at 22 ft. for all shots with 6" splatter targets.

Targets at 12 o'clock, 3 o'clock and 6 o'clock were with the Canik SFx. Too many mods to list here.
Target at 9 o'clock was with the SAR9. It has the trigger and spring upgrades. Side note: anybody figure out what replacement sights fit this firearm?
Target at center is with a Magnum Research Baby Eagle III in 9mm. It's bone stock.

Image

My results:
1) I can't shoot my SAR9 worth a lick. The OEM sights suck. MUST.REPLACE.SIGHTS.
2) The Baby Eagle III shoots good but is relegated to the night stand; too heavy and big for a carry gun but the Olight fits perfect. If I run out of rounds I can beat the bad person with the firearm.
3) The SFx with iron sights scared me. Why do I need a red dot with these results! Oh, right. Specialized glasses with a perfect focal length to be able to see the front sight. Without those glasses I might as well throw the SFx at the target. Com'on Holosun!!!

The end....

A $275 SF One with an Olight is a great option there. With Night Fision even better.

Just thought I’d update my post just up the page. To this point I’m not impressed with Holosun’s Customer Service. My 508T-GR has been in their hands for over 2 weeks. I haven’t heard Boo from them. I look at it this way. I paid the same price as others that bought their sight around the time I did. Mine was bad from the first day out, I shot it within 3 days of receiving it. Between getting the authorization to return it, shipping it back and waiting to hear from them I’ve been out of a sight for about 3 1/2 weeks. The others that got theirs at the same time are enjoying theirs. Is an email or a phone call too much to expect?

What trigger upgrade do you have on the SAR9. I really like mine but the trigger has to go. Thinking about trying out a Freedomsmith trigger.
