The day ended with a bunch of raffles, and I ended up winning a Surefire G2X Pro flashlight and a really nice aluminum Samson M-Lok vertical foregrip. Nice way to end the day!
Very cool! BTW, I have your other jersey going out tomorrow so you should have it in a few days. Congrats on winning some free stuff. That's always a bonus.

OK, shot USPSA today. How how hot was it? Watch the videos and see. It just wasn't this old frat complaining.

And away we go!

OK, 5th stage was the qualifier, how hard could it be? Listen to my comment just before the video ends.

And for the fence-sitters trying to figure out if they want to shoot comp or not, here's what the scoring looks like just click on the picture. Notice just how bad stage 5 was.

When you see guys with towels on their heads, you know it's HOT!
You were shooting well through 4, despite the close call on the 180 DQ.

It looks like the heat finally got to you on 5!
 ...I was a little distracted by those "Sexy Knees", I missed most of the shooting!!!
:-? ..."sub-one" HF, I guess I'd have to agree with you!!!
"CLASSIFIERS" are hard enough...but those "QUALIFIERS", they are the worst!!! =)) =))
Classifiers are funny things...they always seem to mess with your head.

Thanks for posting @LT USN (Ret.) !!!

Benn crazy busy and haven't been online lately. Pulled a couple videos from last Saturday's match. It was a beautiful day and it seems EVERYONE came out to shoot...even Phil Strader from SIG who won the overall match. There were 111 shooters spread out over 6 squads. We had 19 on ours, and despite the large number, we moved along at a pretty good pace. There were a number of GMs and Master shooters, along with a ton of A and B shooters. Finished 72nd overall. Had a couple issues, a FTE and a failure of the striker to reset. Posted a couple videos in my build tread in slo-mo to show the failures. Planning a major tear down and cleaning!

Here's a couple videos from the match...

Shot an IDPA match yesterday. It was a gorgeous day, sunny with temps in the low to mid 70s. This is the only IDPA match I'm shooting now as I really like USPSA much better. This club is where my competitive shooting began. There's always a fun group of shooters, so I continue to shoot their matches.

Anyways...had a pretty good day. Finished 8th out of 40 shooters, and 3rd out of 8 in Carry Optics. #1 is a Master and #2 is an Expert class shooter.

Image

The two CO guys were also 1 & 2 overall.

Image

The day wasn't without a good laugh!
Stage 3 was the second stage of the day which had 3 shooting positions in the form of an isosceles triangle. There were 6 targets at roughly 15 yards with two no-shoots. Starting in the back left corner, you had to fire one shot on each target, then moving to the back right side, you had to performing a mandatory tac reload, then fire 1 shot at each target. Then moving to the front position of the triangle, perform a mandatory tac reload, fire 1 shot on each target. It was a limited round count with 3 shots on each target. So after doing my unload and show clear routine, The RO tells me I had 3 procedurals for taking 2 shots on each of the targets from each shooting position. I'm like...WTF are you talking about???? He said I was double tapping the targets. We're walking up to the targets and there's only 3 shots on each...I'm like "then where did the other 3 shots on the targets go! I only took 1 shot per target from each position!" He looks at me and says..."yea your right, you wouldn't have missed all those shots". The guy with the scoring tables says, "I think you were shooting the paired targets so fast it looked like you were double tapping the targets". #-O

Anyways once they realized they messed up, the running joke with the other guys was...they were giving me the procedurals for shooting to fast and I need to slow down!

That stage was actually my best of the day where I finished 4th overall!

I'll get some video up later tonight or tomorrow.
HAPPY FATHERS DAY to all!!!!!

Appears I had a better day shooting the gun than shooting video!!!
Only got Stages 1,2 and 4. :-x
REALLY PISSED I missed stage 3 where I was accused of shooting too fast.

I was helping with the scoring tablet and talking to a couple guys about reloading, should have been paying better attention when I got up to shoot!!! Forgot the damn GoPro too.

Stage 1...
Had to start out seated with an empty chamber and holding a coffee cup. I never drink coffee so I figured this stage would be a disaster!

Stage 2...
Was my first stage of the day. Shot it well but got a procedural for a foot fault. Got too aggressive out of the gate and I guess the front of my foot slid off the board.

Stage 4...
DAMN THUMB!
Need a redesign on the slide release!!!

It's not a slide release, it's a slide stop. Just saying...https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Slide_stop :d

Looks like it was fun shooting without all the mud. THX for sharing.

Shooting too fast?
In the previous post I attempted to describe the stage. Unfortunately I didn't turn the camera on.
The stage had 6 targets all at the same distance. They were "paired" together with a spacing between each pair. Paired targets had 8-10" between them and the pairs had 6-8' between them.

Basically 2 full target, 6-8', 2 full target, 6-8' and 2 full targets. Three shooting positions in the shape of a triangle. First position, rear left, 1 shot on each target, move to position two, rear right, perform mandatory tac reload, 1 shot on each target, move to position 3 front of triangle, tac reload, 1 shot on each target.

When I shot the two paired targets, it was like I was "double tapping". When I finished the stage the RO said I was being hit with 3 procedurals for taking two shots on each target. Once we walked down to he targets there were only 3 holes on each. He looked totally confused. After a little discussion he said I was shooting too fast and it sounded like I was double tapping each target. Others in the squad were joking around saying if I don;t slow down they're going to start giving me procedurals.

I guess you had to be there!
