Century arms on Canik ?

Post by RedDevil1972 » Sat Aug 01, 2020 9:49 am

Hello all

I have a question do all your import company place there name on a weapon. If it's not made in the us?
Because I'm from Belgium🇧🇪 EU and I bought me an TP9FSX and the slide is clean.

I apologize, I relied on my failing memory instead of just going and looking at one. Yes, Century Arms is imprinted on them.

There is very simple reason. In USA Entry level fire arms company prefered to collobrate with local big dealer. Otherwise, Canik need it put more money to open local company , build team which is has no idea about local USA market. Build customer service and warehouse and no idea about gun laws. So it was very diffucult to Canik price could stay so competitive in USA. Canik now only focus to production and all customer care issue done by Century Arms. Sure this speacil agreements gives rights to Century Arms to make own brand name on Canik Pistols also. Imagine each delivery has thousands of pistols and this numbers goes always to bigger every time. Maybe one day Canik will open own factory in USA. But i think still too early.

In other hands in Belgium Canik has very limited sale number. Also Turkey has customs agreement with EU, rules and paper works much more easy to export or import the gun between EU countries. So Canik could handle the such small operation without making agreement with local dealer in EU.

Okay thx for clearing it up for me.
I wish we had the same big market for guns in the EU as in US.
Its hard to get the special guns here like AK's and al the other special end nice guns.
And the price is also a problem my tpfsx is 900€ with taxes and paperwork

Federal law requires importer identification roll stamp on all imported guns.

From ATF website:

Name of Importer

Must be conspicuously engraved, cast or stamped (impressed) on the firearm frame, receiver, barrel or slide

For firearms imported after January 30, 2002, the engraving, casting or stamping (impressing) of the importer’s name must be to a minimum depth of .003 inch
City & State of the Importer

Must be conspicuously engraved, cast or stamped (impressed) on the firearm frame, receiver, barrel or slide

Yeah unfortunately its a law for imported firearms, sucks when you get a nice clean old milsurp example and its got some shoddy looking import markings on it.

Even if it's a collector piece like kar98, SKS or moisin with al the correct markings on it from that time , country and al numbers are correct?

If so man that sucks

900 euro is good price trust me. In Turkey Sfx price 572 euro + 848 (Tax for carry) + Paper works (50 Euro) . I am ready to pay half of this , even on pistol typing Donald Duck.

In Belgium the Price for the FSX is between 780€ and 850€ . And paperwork is About 113€. Almost nobody can open- or conceal carry in Belgium if you are civilian

The markings laws been in effect since 1968, so almost all eastern bloc weapons have them unless they were bringbacks from Vietnam or Korea. prior to around 2000 the markings didn't have to be conspicuous so one might get lucky and get a gun where they put the markings where they're unseen unless the weapons broken down or stock removed. Also if it were made before 1898 its an antique and exempt. My Kar98's have russian capture markings plus import markings, though since there tons of mausers brought back from WWII and imported after the war before 68 you can find pristine examples.

I'm from germany and got a Sfx pretty early. Cost me 700€ + 95€ for paperwork

I got an import marking on it: HWG 16 DE TR
Which translates to importing company, year, country where it was imported to, country of origin
