Hello from Sunny Mesa Arizona

Post by TJT_SFx » Sat Mar 09, 2019 12:05 pm

New member today. Just got my SFx yesterday and haven't even shot it yet. I did however demo the SF so I'm sure this will be a great addition to my collection.
I'll be mounting the the Viper red dot for my first ever mrds.
I'm curious if there is much of a difference between the mod 1 and mod 2 in the SFx. The one I bought was represented as a mod 2 but does not state that anywhere.
I noticed on the 2019 catalog that mod 2 is printed on the slide. (at lease in the pictures shown)
Is the a way to prove this by serial number? Mine shows a mfr. date of July 2018.
Thanks for any info.

You looking at the TP9SA vice the SFx? The TP9SA Mod 2 is the current version.

Either way, welcome aboard the forum. Lots of good upgrades available for the SFx.

The Mod 2 SFX will have the slide release lever similiar to the Elite.
Also shows it coming with an extended magwell similiar to the Combat.

Thanks for the info. The differences externally are subtle. The slide release is better...looks like my Walther PPQ.
I wonder if there are substantial differences internally? Like maybe they cleaned up some lingering problems..recoil springs come to mind.

I'm so confused; I Googled SFx Mod 2 and only the SA Mod 2 comes up. Where are you guys looking? Educate me. I even found the (incorrect) 2019 catalog.

The photo and info comes from the Century Arms website.

https://www.centuryarms.com/resources/catalogs

They also show the TP9 Sub Elite. Not available in the US yet.
Check Youtube under that name ...there is a short video produced by Canik describing the new Sub Elite.
