I'm a JKU owner. I've had it for about 5 years now. 3" zone lift and 33's. I'd like to get 35's but I'd have to re-gear. Right now I have 4:10, but with the wimpy 3.8L, I'd need 4:88 or 5:13.

Here's how it looks in the winter.

And this is how it looks most of the summer.

I've had several Jeeps over the years. This is my current one.

Thanks Janik. I get a lot of compliments on the jeep because of that shade of blue. Care to give a quick review on your fastback soft top? Your lift is just right for the wheels/tires. 35's are overrated.

It's a Bestop fastback soft top. It came with the Jeep when I bought it used in December of 13. I'm pretty sure it's original when it sold new in 07. This one is pretty worn out though, I'm going to have to get a new one this Spring. I've been trolling the Quadratec website looking for a replacement.

YUP...once you make the jump over 33s, you're talking more lift, gears, steering, fenders, etc...and $$!

 My first 6 new vehicles were all Toyota 4x4 trucks...all GREAT vehicles!
1985, 87, 91, 95, 99 and 2002.
Pretty plain Jane compared to what's available now.
Then moved to the SUVs. Currently running an Xterra.

The Jeep was purchased as a project vehicle to teach my son automotive skills and fabrication. It was a great bonding experience, especially during those "I know it all" high school teenager years!

As much as I love my Jeep, I wish I had the funds for a 4Runner. The older I get, the more I desire more cargo room and a more comfortable ride. That being said, I can't imagine not enjoying my summers with the top off the Jeep and my beautiful wife by my side.

My Jeep is strictly a 3 season vehicle! Soft top comes off 4/1 and goes back on 11/1. I'll take it out when the weather is decent through the winter just to run it. Same as you...couldn't imagine not having a "wide open drive"!!! Edit... My beautiful wife is a little more fussy about riding in it topless...has to be GT 80*!

EDIT...That's the JEEP that's TOPLESS...NOT MY WIFE!!! B-(

I have several friends that own Jeeps, the local dealer stocks tons of them and they are all over the road. Pretty popular in Arizona to say the least as well as “expensive!”

Not for me however.

They are way over priced in my opinion. Even used, the prices are ridiculous!!!
For what they cost I'd buy the 4-Runner! :-BD

Seems like anything labeled a truck is way over priced here. Ford Rangers in particular. Just do a search on CL in Phoenix. 4 to 6 grand and above for a 15 to 20 year old Ford Ranger with a 100 grand on the clock. Chevys the same. If it says Jeep get your wallet out.

I could easily get 4 grand for my 2004 plain Jane model.

She is gonna help with most of it. The sliders her uncle and I will probably do but everything else she will be involved in. That way she knows how to work on it and cars in general, so if she does take it to a shop they cant screw her over

Actually it is. Purchased and parked inside for the winter. Taken out of town for the summers. I actually ran into the original owner here in town. It’s bare bones, no AC. I park it from June to late September in the garage and wax a little each week. Just turned 118,000. I put some money in it to bring up to snuff and can drive it anywhere without worries.

I have since scraped the bed rails. We drive it everywhere in the cool months.
