Hello everyone... We have finally finished our new grips for the Canik line.

You can view them here: http://www.tejasproducts.com/category-s/1860.htm

To start the new line, I am going to give away a set free to the first 5 members who respond here....

After the 5 members post, I will send you a PM asking for your contact information, model and color choice.

The only thing I ask in return is for honest reviews here on the forum.

I have tested these extensively on my sf, Elite and now my sfx and they have performed very well for me.

Thank you everyone. I am working on getting the giveaways cut out and shipped.. Thanks to the generosity of the forum I had several sets that sold overnight and those shipped out today... (You know who you are :-) ).

As an Update, I am adding the Taurus G2 / PT111 to my offerings as well. They are not on the website yet but should be soon...

So, I got mine yesterday. Cleaned the grip as directed and applied. I really like the feel, although there is a stark difference between the front/sides and the back strap. Almost wish there was a piece for the back strap. I haven't shot it yet, but should be able to do so Sunday or Monday (days off). I'll report back then as well.

Yes, because they are a little thicker you will notice the at first. Due to how the back strap is designed, I chose not to cover it. Glad you like how they feel. To me they do seem to absorb some of the recoil. Please report back after you’ve had a chance to use them.

Looks like they will fit on the grip just like the Traction Grips I have. I should have mine shortly as well, and looking forward to getting it installed and trying them out.

Thanks Tejas...received the grip yesterday, planning to get it installed tomorrow and will post some pic.s I'll report on how it feels after taking it to the range.

:-?
Is it recommended to use any heat to apply the grip?
I've used a number of Talon grips and I apply heat to the grip after getting the placement correct. Supposedly the heat helps the adhesive to fully bond. Just want to make sure I get it applied proberly.

Not at all.
The most important thing is to make sure any dirt, oils, etc are cleaned off your gun....

OK...so I got up this morning and decided to get to work on installing the Tejas grip on the Elite.

First thing I noticed is the holes weren't cut for the Canik logo on the sides. The reason I mention this, when installing the Talon grips, I use that cutout and the notch for the mag release to properly align the grip to start the installation. Not a big deal but wanted to mention it.
  • I removed my Talon grip and cleaned the grip surface with denatured alcohol. Wiped it down a couple times and allowed it to dry.

  • I removed half of the backing paper from the grip and started on the "slide release" side of the grip.
  • Lined up the mag release button and cutout on the Tejas grip and then down the side of the backstrap.
  • Once lined up, I pulled the grip under the trigger guard and pressed down the grip on the slide release side.
  • Removed the rest of the backing paper and pulled the Tejas grip tight around the ejection port side.
  • I used the mag release as a guide to properly position the Tejas and press it in place.
  • I then worked the Tejas grip applying pressure and rubbing it in place with my hand and fingers.
Here's the grip installed...

As far as feel...definitely thicker than the Talon grips. Feels good in the hand, but very different without the stippling/texturing on the grip. Not sure how it would be competing in the hot weather with sweaty hands. I was drawing from the holster and noticed that the top edge of the grip was starting to roll over a little.

I tend to ride that area establishing my grip. Seems the thicker material is probably the issue. I was going to take it to the range this morning, but was focused on training for the match this Saturday. I'll be going to the indoor range and will take it with me and see how it feels shooting.

Thank you for the review. I received mine last week but have not had the time for install.

The only thing I don’t care for is at the magwell. It’s not even but angles up. Doesn’t mean my set will be the same however. I have the SFx.

Looks good by the way.
