I have a Springer full size p320 guide rod and some 1911 springs laying around. From reading it seems like I should be fine putting it in my sfx as long as springs aren't too long. Pretty sure they are for a full size 1911.

Any suggestions, issues, tips anyone had before I try it out?

Currently have the factory reduced recoil spring and guide rod. No issues with it, just still feels heavy. I usually shoot factory 124 or and 147 grain. About 3k rounds through it with no.issues

Other have reported that the 320 rod works. But you have to cut down the full size 1911 springs. I think they were cutting down a 15# spring, taking 3+ coils off. I'm using the Sprinco RSA with the minor power spring in mine. I also replaced the FP spring with a Glock 28 newton spring to match up with the RSA to not have battery issues.

Thanks. The p320 guide rod is a lot longer. The Wolff springs were for a 5 inch 1911 but they must be too long. Tried installing but the guide rod wouldn't set correctly. I may chop a few coils off and see if that works.

I purchased the tungsten extended guide rod for a glock 34. Have yet to try it out

Nope. Just had an extra p320 guide rod laying around so I thought I'd try it out. Way to much effort compared to p320. I just went ahead and ordered a sprico for the walther q5 with the whitespring. I'll pair that with the 6.5 striker spring when they get here and report back.

I use this for carry optic in uspsa. Mainly just use 147 grain factory ammo I buy at academy or walmart
