I didn't buy one because it is too far up for my hands. Uncomfortably so.

Most 1911 magwells ride below the grip (where God intended).

Since I'm not a firearm expert, I can't say it really benefits me. I like it, but I haven't really practiced mag drills with it at the range or anything. I like my EC over my Elite, but I'm happy with either one. If the magwell becomes available aftermarket, I may put one on my standard Elite. If I start competing, I'm sure that's where I'll notice a difference reloading.

I have Elite Combat coming default with Magwell. There is two big advantage with Magwell.

1- It is allow you change magazine without looking to pistol.
2- Espacilly with +3 or +5 magazine it give better grip. Espeacilly every time you pull from holster from excat same position.

Worth it ? Yes
Big deal ? No

The magwell is not a big deal one way of the other to me. But the trigger and barrel . . .

Yeah I'm not a fan of flared magwells on compacts and subcompacts cause they sometimes can interfere with my grip. Generally most of the little add on magwells dont seem that beneficial to me. Big flared out ones sure but only for competition dont think I'd want those IWB.
