TP9SFX back strap size

Post by tommyt37 » Mon Jun 25, 2018 3:25 pm

The back straps that came with the gun look about the same size. I noticed numbers on the back..... any one notice a big difference? I think the smaller one came installed.

In my case, the larger one was definitely larger.

The one that came on the gun fit me perfectly. Never even looked at the other one.

The stippling will visually ID the size. Straight indicates the smaller size. Curved is the larger backstrap.

The larger backstrap definitely makes a difference. It's not any thicker/wider, but makes the "hump" on the back of the grip higher. I installed the larger size on mine, and ran with it for a few weeks, then swapped the smaller size back on. Found that I vastly preferred the smaller size.

(*) Buy a couple of boxes of 124 gr. WWB NATO to break in the stiff RSA. Cheap, and shoots great in the Canik! (*)

I came to the same conclusion.

I don't think I have huge hands, but I swapped in the larger back strap and suddenly the grip made sense. I'm a pretty new shooter, but it felt much better to me.

And that is what matters, what feels good in you hands.

That's what I thought for a long time.
Then I discovered the one that centered the pad of my finger on the trigger, or came the closest, made me shoot better.
So, for me, that's what matters. :-D
