2019 Tp9sfx factory improvements???

Post by Bcn11 » Sat Sep 07, 2019 7:06 am

I just purchased a new Tp9sfx from clelands outdoor and I noticed the holster is different and possibly improved (no strap). It has a slide button to release pistol. I will post pick later. Has anyone read, seen any documented improvements for the new models. Please share. Tx

The holster you describe has been available for awhile. In regards to improvements, the SFx has not changed since it's initial release. Other than a change from a MIM to machined firing pin, the gun is the same. If you're looking for ways to improve your SFx for competition, there's some good modification threads here on the forum. An update to the SFx is expected, but who knows when. Nothing on the radar yet in regards to the specific update or a release date.

Welcome aboard the forum.

I'd be interested in seeing a picture of the new holster; I threw the original one I received away.

Yup, that's the newer style holster. Can't remember when they started using it, might have been the SFx. They also came with my Elite Combats. It's definitely an improvement over the older holster. But unfortunately, I'm a Lefty so I have no use for them.

Yes, I hear the new Sfx Mete has threaded barrel, nickel plated internal parts, magazine funnel, comes with one 18 and two 20 magazines, extended slide release, just to name a few improvements. Exciting.

Be careful of the definitions. I believe that the next SFX to be released in the US will be the Mod2, not the Mete. Extended slide release, nickel internals, maybe a mag funnel, definitely not a threaded barrel.

This is true. Mete is only available to Euro law/mil according to Canik. But hey, we will get something awesome. This company has brought the goods so far. I'm keeping the faith.

I too got this new one. The slide button is completely removable and can swapped to the left side, full ambi.

The Mete also has a rear sight even with an optic. I hope the Mod 2 will have the same capability.

Likely the smaller slide cut like the SC has. It is not compatible with most of the common red dots like the Vortex Venom, Holosun 507c, Deltapoint Pro, RMR, etc. You have to use a micro red dot or whatever they call them like the Shield or a couple others that are currently available.
