I'm assuming it must be assembled in the US then, from imported parts. My G2C is clearly stamped "Made in Brazil".

If you are expecting consistency between the US country of origin laws and the ATF Saturday Night Special laws, I am afraid that your expectations may be too high...

Notice he pronounced it, "Janik"?
Then is it pronounced Jentury Arms?

Asking for a friend. :-

If your friend is in Turkey then yes
Also odd is the Turkish 'c', which is pronounced just like English 'j'. Cem in Turkish is pronounced just like English gem (as in gemstone). Can in Turkish is pronounced just like English John. The odd soft-g (ğ) is not pronounced at all, though it lengthens the preceding vowel slightly.

Well, it looks like the OTHER handgun I was waiting for has finally started hitting the market...
I've finally seen the Taurus 692 .357/9mm combo Tracker revolver available for purchase. That's been on my list since it was announced at SHOT show LAST year.

And now, to keep this thread on topic:

Interesting and disappointing. Did they happen to give you the dimensions of the plate?

Is it this sight? https://www.shieldpsd.com/shop-2/rmsc-r ... mpact-8moa If so, at $380USD, that will be tough to swallow

It's a tough decision between losing your rear sights or keeping them and being limited to single option (or eventually a small niche of sights).

Based on the photo, it looks more like https://www.shieldpsd.com/shop-2/shield ... ms4moa-dot

Either way, the sight appears to have a rear sight cut into it to cowitness. This one is closer to $200.

Yeah, that does look more like it. Still, even at a lower price, I question the ruggedness of that sight. Sure looks to be all polymer. Rather pay a little more for a metal sight.

Do you think that you can charm your friends at Canik Turkey into saying when the Sub Elite will be available in the US?

This is nice request but i dont think any professional company will share marketing Strategic data with 3th part person. You may sure there is no reason Sub elite will not sale in US market. It is matter of time.

Thank you. I thought I had read somewhere it would only accept the SHIELD. In time, other manufacturers may adopt the SHIELD plate size, but for now, it will be limited. Thanks again for getting clarification on this.

The reps at Century Arms keep hinting this Summer or Fall. I really hope so. I'll be adding one to my collection when they are available.

I still like the SE but with the limits that slide cut will impose, it would be really nice if they released a model without the slide cut which would hopefully shave a bit off the cost too. I'm sure they will sell but I have a feeling that many folks might shy away from a higher price tag for an optics mount that is not "standard".

I think you'd need a "mainstream" manufacturer to adopt that size of cut before you see optics manufacturers changing their designs to accommodate it. Are there any other pistols out there that have this smaller cut?

I saw the RMR as a nice to have. It is made for EDC and I just don't see carrying an optic making sense for me.

Still more frustrated with the lack of availability.

I've been told the SHIELD red dot is very popular in Europe, and used by British military and others. I know the Walther PPS M2 is also offered with a SHIELD on it also.

I still don't understand why make a carry gun with not night sights. Smh. It just doesn't make sense to make a carry gun with no night sights when everybody knows you need them.
