Sight Pusher for Caniks

Post by John Snow » Mon Jul 02, 2018 8:12 pm

Any recommendations for an economical sight pusher? I read about NcStar sight pushers that are sold on Amazon. For the price, they look really decent. I was hoping to find one that's listed for both front and rear, but all only reference the rear. At least the ones I've come across. I don't mind using brass punches if I need to though. But it would be nice to have a sight pusher for the rear. What's everyone using for a sight pusher? Are the cheaper ones ($50 range) any decent? The NcStar I'm looking at seems to get a lot of good reviews. Thanks.

All have ever used is brass punches. If i ever got in a bind, I have a gunsmith that takes $10.00 to push out if I can not.

I have the NCStar one, its pretty decent quality for an ncstar product. Should work on Canik front if you've got the S&W type front sight.

A vice, block of wood, 1" of 3/16 keyway or equivilant and a c clamp. Works every time

Resurrecting an old thread. I have the NcStar, but couldn't do the front sights with it. So a couple months ago I purchased this one from Wheeler. I've switched out several sets now on a few of my Caniks and it works great. Unfortunately, it's listed for $40 more than when I purchased it. But it has greatly increased my efficiency changing out the front and rear sights, and getting the front sight lined up quicker than using brass punches.

You should rent it out. $150.00 deposit, $25.00 per week plus shipping.

Which Wheeler sight pusher did you get. Can you provide a link to the model. You stated it only cost $40.

It's not $40...he said..."Unfortunately, it's listed for $40 more than when I purchased it."

The Wheeler is around $150.

You misread what I said. Unfortunately it's $40 more now than when I had purchased it. But, I switch out a sights regularly so I think it was worth the cost. Probably even at the $150 price I may have still considered it a good value.
