As the title says I'm in the Lehigh Valley. I don't have a Canik yet but will soon.I plan on trading my Taurus PT809 in on a TP9SA. Joined here as I hope to get some info and make some online friends with common interests.

Welcome to the forum. The SA is a great shooter. I've had both the original SA and Mod2 and was very pleased with both of them. Let us know if you have any questions.

Welcome to the club cap'n.

Lehigh Valley?......is that where they make those fine boots?

Trade your PT-809? I had the PT845 and sold it- wish I hadn't. Taurus has had some for real issues with their poly guns- but the 800 series was solid.Their 900's and 92 family were good also. I like their 92 better than the newer style Beretta.

Anyway?....if you like the DA/SA trigger on the PT809?......you may want to consider the Canik DA model instead of the SA.The DA model has an excellent DA/SA trigger.
Me personally- I would rather carry the DA over the SA or SF. But, I'm an old Sig, Beretta, Bersa guy- I like good DA/SA triggers.

Good choice. There's actually more aftermarket options for the Mod2 since they changed the design of the slide from the original SA. But both are great.

Hi Higgybaby...you are the Second person to mention the trigger...the other discussed it in the Taurus forum I belong to. I really liked the trigger on the SA. I didn't have issue with the 809....reminded me of the S&W 686 I use to own.
I like my 809....I keep waffling on trading it or just buying the Canik. I guess the trade offer will determine that.
Boots??? Bethlehem Steel used to be here...now we got a casino and Amazon warehouse...but I don't know about any boot makers.
Thanks for the welcome and the suggestions. As to the Da/SA triggers i really want but can't afford a Sig 226 or find agood enough deal on the SP2022 for my budget.

Welcome!
Don't have any experience with the DA/SA guns. However plenty have commented on their quality and shootability!
