Will be picking up an Elite for myself right after Christmas. Just going ahead and getting the skinny from people who own Caniks already.

Welcome to the club Steve..... no doubt....you will like the Elite. It fells good in the hand....and it shoots good in the field.
If you are not accustomed to carrying single actions pistols- just be aware....the trigger on the Elite is pretty light. Make sure the trigger is covered in what ever holster you use.
Most that shoot it- love it. You will not want to put it down..... be sure to carry several boxes of ammo with you when you go to the range!

Edit: thought I'd add a pic.....my Elite S in a MDJ hybrid holster...

I am not a lefty.....this image is in a mirror...

Howdy and Welcome to the Canik forum!!!
I have one and like it. I put about 200rounds of NATO spec ammo thru mine to break it in, strong RSA.
Now it shoots anything. It does have a lite trigger which I think helps in its accuracy.
Good luck and safe shooting.
Shut up and Reload!

My Elite-S shoots anything, and as Higgy said, it has a very good (read as not heavy but I wouldn't quite call it light) trigger. If you are considering the Elite-S over the Elite, try it first, it is an awkward safety design and you have to decide if you can manipulate it under pressure.

" Here I thought you went and bought a SetilE." Made my night!

I have the Elite-S, simply because I knew I'd instruct my daughter with it as her first 9mm at some point soon, and wanted that extra measure of safety. No worries for me; I've practiced quite a bit using my trigger finger to slap it down. Not sure I'd carry it that way, but want to program my finger to do so, anyway.
I learned after the fact about running NATO through it, but now it is a real sweet shooter! Enjoy.

Sorry gents. While I have limited useful knowledge, I make up for it in asinine comments.
