Hey all,

I have a Canik Tp9-sfx and just installed a vortex venom on it, first time shooting a pistol with an optic on it. let’s you know how unsteady your hands really are. But I absolutely loved the experience of shooting a pistol with an optic. Im looking into getting an Elite SC and getting rid of my old Springfield xds 4” for my carry pistol. I’ve researched the new Holosun 507k and I like the option of having just the outside reticle as an option for defensive purposes and the shake awake along with a durable housing to go on the Elite SC. I have had most of the major players in the pistol category and you just can’t beat the quality for the price on these Caniks.

Welcome to the forum, from the Eastern side if Iowa. My first experience with a red dot was on my SFx as well. I do have the Elite SC, but I haven't put a red dot on it yet. Eventually, as funds allow. Welcome again.

That's where I'm at. @Ghostwolf308 and a few others are in the Quad Cities as well.

Nice! Where do you guys get your range time in at? The last couple years I had a member ship to the Milan rifle club but this year unfortunately I didn’t get one. I’ve shot at Davenport guns a couple times but their ranges are short. The public place in Princeton gets a little sketchy if there’s too many people.

Oak Hills Gun Club in Blluegrass is nice. I had a membership at Davenport Guns but let it expire. Not a big fan of indoor ranges. We usually go to Princeton, but we get there at sun up, before the idiots show up. There's rumor of a new range opening in McCausland. I heard it's a public range, but costs a fee, which might keep some of the idiots away. I've heard good things about Milan Gun Club, though I've never been there. Was hoping to start shooting competition there this Spring, but that's now on hold.

Milan is 24/7 access to the indoor ranges. I would always go out there in weekend nights after the kids were in bed and you basically have a private range to yourself

I’ll get you my contact Info if your going to the range anytime soon. It’d be nice to meet some local gun/fun enthusiasts. I know ammo is hard to come by right now but I have enough for another couple range visits. So whenever your going out again I can see if it will work with my schedule.

We're usually out at Princeton almost every Sunday morning. I like to get there at sun up and get the steel targets set up. I also usually have a decent collection of Caniks with me. So if there's anything you've been wanting to try, I might have one with me.

I’d love to try the SC before I bite the bullet on one. I’ll try to make it out this weekend. I need to knock the cobwebs out of my AR anyways. I haven’t shot that thing in months

I'll bring my SC. We also bring AR's and other rifles to mix things up. We have a steel plate we've shot the crap out of that we set out on the berm. Makes for a nice longer range target with the rifles.

I’ll see you guys out there Sunday. I have paper targets I can contribute if needed. I know their wood stands are usually shot to shit though. I’ll bring any wood or target holders I have laying around the house.

If you decide not to go just shoot me a message. I’ll bring my own wipes or gloves if I shoot your gun. Damn that sounds dumb as hell to say. But it’s reality right now

No problem. We bring quite a few steel targets, so there's plenty to shoot at. I'm sure we'll be in touch over the week/weekend to confirm. If anything changes, I'll shoot you a PM. Last Sunday wasn't too bad out there, and I expect the same this weekend.
