Post by Tejas Products » Tue Nov 06, 2018 9:06 am

Thoughts, comments, suggestions ?

I have several shades of leather, light, dark, tan, pink, and more.... And as always, we can custom engrave any logo or name..

I have never heard of leather grips for pistols. Super cool. Not my style but very creative.

Thanks,

We are using a faux leather material. All of the other grip tape, wraps, etc.. are usually just black or brown. I thought some would like to have something new and different. I am waiting on our sample supples to arrive that have 11 different colors of faux leather in them. I am also in the process of finding several drawings to use as engravings, as well as offering custom initials or names to engrave. I am waiting for a friend who has 3 different Glock's to come over so that I can use them to create the wraps for that model as well.

My next step is to take this to the range (both indoor and outdoor) and put them through the paces. We have to be sure the adhesive material holds up, also that the grips will clean up after gunpowder residue, etc....

The material is a little thicker and spongier than grip tape, so I am hoping for a nicer feel to them.

I'll update this post as we get different colors and styles in. Also as we field test... We never know if a product will end up going to market or not... Our Hi-Point Carbine stickers are going like gang busters right now on Amazon and eBay...

Thanks for the replies, again, both good and bad help me to finalize the products...

Very cool. I like to see innovation and new options. I will have to try a set down the road. I would imagine they wouldn't be as grippy as Talon or Traction Grips, but for a range/home defense gun they probably work well. And I really like the ability to add a design to them.

Appreciate the comments. I've gotten a bit delayed on this due to the fact that our woodturner has given his notice by end of year. We derive about 30 - 40 percent of our income from making bullet pens and bottle stoppers. I am having to quickly switch gears and as stated in a post above am moving into casting resins. We can recreate the wood products that way and can shut down the wood shop.... Right now 70% of the business is laser engraving and cutting, so this is a natural progression into the current business model of manufacturing parts. Once we get ramped up into the casting part, I will roll out the new leather grips. The patterns are already made and I have ordered 11 different colors of the faux leather, so it is just a matter of putting everything together on the marketing side...

I am on the final leg of the leather grips and will be bringing to market within the next week... I plan on offering up to 10 different colors. Once the final cuts are made and photographs taken and listed on our website, I will have a a giveaway here for the first 5 to respond.... (Please don't respond to the giveaway here).

Have most of the pictures taken and will be working on the editing of them and getting them on the website.. Hope to have everything in place by mid week. Had a little time and did some custom engraving on my personal set... Not sure if I will offer this as an option to start out with, just the basic colors... But maybe in the future...

My two arrived yesterday...had the wife install (less cussing and it was done right) on my SA. Black on black...nothing flashy, but different and feels good. I will hold the other in reserve to decide which pistol wants a coat.
