My pants are falling and ......

Post by runeight » Fri May 10, 2019 7:01 am

I need a different belt!

Looking for something stylish but sturdy to carry a larger firearm. Say 40 ounces. Glenn had posted one he likes but don't have the link anymore.

Any recommendations? Something sturdy and stylish?

TIA

I bought this one off Amazon and like it so far. It's the first belt I've bought that was really geared towards concealed carry. I also plan to use it for IDPA later this year. I'm sure there's a lot of great options out there, but this was in my budget range. But again, it's been great so far and very sturdy.

The one I wear everyday is from Blue Alpha Gear. It's the Hybrid EDC belt in gray. The Cobera buckle fits through regular belt loops which makes it easy to use!!!
https://www.bluealphagear.com/product/hybrid-edc-belt/

Their sizing is based on your "pants size". I wear a 32 pants and ordered a 32 belt. As far as having the IWB holster, I just keep the button/snap undone and adjust the belt accordingly. When I'm not carrying, which is rare, I just adjust the belt smaller and I'm good to go. If you're on in between sizes, go up to the next size. There is plenty of Velcro for adjustment. A 34 would have also worked for me. Plenty of adjustment.

The EDC belts also have a lifetime warranty that covers all aspects of the belt.

They also offer a free 30 day sizing exchange, so if for some reason you order the wrong size...no problem.

Also if your weight changes dramatically, they offer a "Belt Resizing Service". For $25 they'll take the buckles of and make you a new belt!

Hah!......my pants been falling for a while- my weight fluctuated near 30% this past year.
I settled on 1.5" web belts. You can cinch them to your exact waist size- not like standard belts where you have to choose a little tight or a little loose. The heaviest gun I have carried out away from home was my C-100 in an OMB holster. There are heavier and wider web belts, and then there is the Kilk type belts up in the $50+ range.

If I remember correctly, I ordered a size up. Since I wear a 32, I ordered a 34 since I carry IWB. Even at that, there was very little holes left on the end of the belt when I put it on. :) But, I may have added a few pounds over the winter too. But I'd suggest ordering a size up. I think there's a sizing chart on their page when you order.

So, you didn't allow for OWB carry? Most manufactures allow 4 inches to allow for belt holster.

Looked at some that were 17mm thick but gee wiz. By the time you thread it through the buckle it’s just to much. (Sigh)

:-? ...If the belt fits with an IWB holster, which will require a longer length, why would OWB be an issue?
OWB is just basically your normal size with a little extra for the OWB belt mount. For IDPA I use a RTI belt mount and all I have to do is make the size smaller then when I'm using it for IWB.

I'm not sure what the problem is.

Ultimate Carry Belt from Bladetech by Nexbelt. Or just go with Nexbelt. Kore Systems gun belts are the same thing.

No problem here but I understand now. Adjustability for IWB or OWB.

Sorry, I guess I should have said "what the confusion was". Wasn't implying you had a "problem"!

My belt has 10" of Velcro (fluffy side) for adjustment, so you can easily adjust it to any length you need. So a 32 belt can be adjusted for a 30 to 34 inch waist. plenty of room for IWB or OWB.

Looking like that’s the one to get. Had this mindset on “leather” but for a heavier firearm this should work just fine. Other models also. Much more versatility.

I shot them an email just to be sure and avoid returns.

I think you'll be very happy with it!!!
It's nice and stiff. You can hold the belt with it "buckled", with your on the webbing opposite the buckle, and the belt holds it's circular shape.

Here's a picture with IWB holster...

Check out Kore belts. Instead of 7-9 holes there are 40 positions to set it to.

I've got a leather one and a web belt. Great guarantee too.

I've got 2 leather Kores, adjustment is simple. Been meaning to try out one of the web ones but haven't gotten around to purchasing one yet but hear good things on them as well.

Just bought the tactical version. Will have to cut to fit but shouldn’t be a problem.

If it’s all they say it is I’ll pickup a leather down the road.

They are. I wear the leather one every day for work with jeans and the web one with a sidearm during non-work hours.
