Training Day Plus FAST Test

Post by 97octane » Sun Jan 26, 2020 4:01 pm

Went out yesterday to do some training and run a couple drills. Me and my training partner who runs a P07 Suppressor Ready. Started with the Baer Solutions Standards target that I completely blew going to fast before getting into fundamentals. After that ran a couple more complicated throttle control drills and the FAST Test. This was developed by the late Todd Green and I enjoy it as a performance measure and I’ll post it below plus the link but you can see the leaderboards. My best time this time was a 7.4 and I’ve hit a 7.02 last summer so I definitely need to dry fire more! Ran a couple Bill Drills (six rounds A Zone 7 yards) and had super consistent splits with about 2 hundredths of a second on all six rounds at best, and 4 at worst. Then ran that P07 through the Bill Drill and WOW that slide tracked so flat and my split times dropped by a few hundredths, with some accuracy degradation to be excepted, but I actually short stroked the trigger one out of two runs, and that DA first shot was just tough but those are dry fire training issues as I never shot the gun before that but what a fantastic handgun. All in all a good training day found some things I did well others I did not. What about you guys? Any preferred drills or metric tests you like? The FAST is one of my favorites. As well as the Bear Standards but that one is run cold as it’s always a rough one. I’ll post them below if you wanna give them a shot.

2015 TP9SA just over 5k rounds still a perfectly reliable and accurate handgun. Still doesn’t lock back on the last round with the weak ammo unless you grip the hell out of the gun but runs +P smooth.
