Elite Combat

Post by Jfrank » Sat Mar 16, 2019 8:03 am

First chance to get to the range after purchasing the EC. I ran assorted ammo ( WWB, Federal and Hornady), FMJ and JHP and 147,124 and 115gr through it without one hiccup. Only 300rds but very impressed, the EC is very accurate when I do my job. This is my first Canik, but not my last.

Thats good to hear. Someone posted a day or so ago that they had some issues with certain 115's on their first outing- but 124 did fine.
I have had several guns over the years that had a few FTE or FTF with in the first box- but went away. Only one of my 4 caniks had an issue and that was the Elite. The FP block caused some FTFR early on. Had to send it in- but is was quick, painless and free. No malfunctions since. None of my DA's of my C-100 have ever malfunctioned.

My SF Elite took 200 or so rounds of "warm" ammo to break in but since has run everything.

Great to hear it. The Elite when I first got it made me fall in love with shooting sports all over again. The damn thing was/is a laser beam. And my Elite Combat is just as great, keeping me addicted to the Canik brand. Keep us posted as you put more rounds down range.

I had an issue with light striker-fires with my Elite Combat the first 500 rounds.
After it broke in, I cleaned the “whatever lube” from the factory out (using Ballistol), including taking out the firing pin assembly and Ballistol’ing that, wiped it dry, it has not had an issue for the last 1,000 rounds. I’m now at over 1,500 rounds.

Excellent choice for your first Canik. The Combat is definitely a great shooting gun.
