Got a chance to hang out with my grandson Austin today. We took a winding road trip deep in the Shelby country side. We cut and loaded some beautiful black cherry wood. Good firewood, even better for grilling, smoking,
and furniture.
I recall my grandfather Papa French grabbing me up on the fly and us riding to the Co-Op, buying/selling livestock, putting rings in pig snouts, castrating hogs, riding to a place called Oak Grove, shooting shotguns/rifles, skinning/cleaning rabbits/squirrels, and shopping for supplies. Talking to me about life, working hard, the value of education, being a man, loving the Lord, and taking care of your family.
Guess what?
I passed it on today!
Thanks Papa , certainly miss ya!
