Finally back online after Derecho!

Post by Janik » Wed Aug 12, 2020 6:19 pm

Finally have power again, and internet after getting hit with that storm on Monday. Sucked not having AC and internet, but I survived. :) Kept busy with the fire department since we had a crap ton of calls, including a few semi's turned over on the interstate. But primarily a ton of calls regarding downed power lines. Anyone else deal with the storm and the fun clean up that's occurring? No damage to our home, but a lot of yard work to clean up the debris. Anyway, glad to finally be back online. Our cell service was basically non existent for a couple days as well.

It was nasty. Lots of damage, but it's getting cleaned up. Lots of people still without power.

You in Iowa? I live in Nebraska and get out there frequently. Drove through there this week, looked really intense. Trees on houses, silos crumpled like beer cans. Happy to here you are okay.

Glad to hear that the power outage was the worst you had. Sorry about the mess and glad it wasn't worse.

Glad to hear it. We go it here in the Chicago suburb area, even had sirens, but it seamed to weaken as it approached.
