Regular duty shift followed up by some grilling and swimming (weather permitting). Oh, and watering the front yard to keep the neighbors from accidentally setting fire to part of it....again...
Might walk towards the park to see the fireworks from the lake, but the boy still isn't big on the noise. "A Capital Fourth" makes for a nice watch, too.
I'll be starting my 2 week vacation in Alaska. On the 4th we'll probably be stopping in Homer and then watching the salmon run in the Kenai River. It's crazy up there as any fireworks shows don't start until 11-midnight. Even then, it's still not really dark but darkish, enough to see the fireworks at least.
Also, probably leaving the Caniks at home. Up there, defensive carry requires a bit more bang so the .44 Mag comes out to play. Still will have my G43x for any 2-legged threats.

Love to get up there and do some fishing/hiking/hunting. G20 would be what I bring.

Yeah, a G20 has been on my list for a while but I just haven't pulled the trigger (bad pun) on one yet. I go up 2-3 times a year for fishing or hunting or just relaxing. It's an amazing place and everyone should get there at some point.
Ha! We’re doing the inside passage cruise from Vancouver to Anchorage! I’d rather just go and visit ... but it’s an extended family trip. Looking forward to it .... first time to AK.
Patio, grilling, my wife's foo-foo martini's, family over, and with my father-in-law, son-in-law, and I, we'll be chatting up the gun talk all night. Though, they'll stay in the safe until bedtime due to the booze consumption.

Sounds like fun. I've never been big into an Alaska cruise just for the fact that it can be so rainy and overcast that you loose most of the benefits of a cruise. However, I get it with a big family trip. If you get the chance, I suggest to everyone to just fly into Anchorage, rent a car and drive the 4 main highways.

You're packing while traveling through Canada? -or are you flying straight in?

Fly in. I'd love to do the drive someday but it's a long trip
A lot really depends on where you are though... Houston (coastal) winters bites.... The humidity makes them hard... I lived in Houston for 32 years before I moved to Dallas and the winters are completely different.... I can go out in 35 degree weather with a medium coat in Dallas... Houston I had to bundle up at 45 degrees....
