First of all, many of you know me as TEX1961 on both the old and now the new forum. As many of you know I am a diehard Canik Lover and overall gun enthusiast. I hold a Texas LTC (License to Carry) and am bringing up twin boys (20) into the world of shooting sports.
My real Name is Mike Troncalli and I am the owner of Tejas Products. Those of you who have purchased or received a Canik Baseplate Sticker will recognize the name on the packaging when you received yours. I have been working with the the owner/admin of the CF forum for a while developing the baseplates that you see here and on the Lima Charlie USA website. We have an exclusive agreement with the Canik Fanatik group to offer the Canik baseplates only through them. However we do currently offer Magazine baseplates for other double stack magazine platforms as well.
Thus my reason for posting. Over the coming weeks, months, we will be working on expanding our offers to include AR-15, AK-47 and Hi-Point Carbine decorative plates. We will be offering both stock and custom engraved plates for those platforms.
Here is where you, a Canik Fanatik member will come into play. As we develop these new products, we will be posting our designs and ideas for you to comment on, make suggestions for new and different ideas. As such we will be offering discounts and more to members as a thank you for your help and suggestions.
As Tejas Products is primarily a Laser Engraving company, we won’t be offering products that involve printing such as gun skins, T-shirts and other similar items. What we do offer are products that are produced or can be engraved on our laser engraving systems.
As a product manufacture, we go though a sometimes long and arduous process that involves marketing, testing, pricing and as such it can take weeks, months, years to bring a product to market. Again, this is where YOU a member here can hopefully help us.
I will start by showing a few of our items currently in the early development stage. First is a side plate for the the Hi-Point Carbine system. Next is a AR-15 lower Plate and finally our Custom double stack pistol magazine base plates. Right now the early stages are designs and options. We will soon begin real world testing for durability and such. As you can see in the pictures below we have an initial design concept, but we need to be sure the product will stand up to things like heat, repeated scuffing, etc, etc. Once the initial phase has been completed and we are satisfied the product will meet our customer demands, we then go into the marketing stages. Here we will offer members discounts, free giveaways and more in response for your help.
The magazine base plates have been online for a while now and are available for sale.
Thank you all for your generous contribution to the Canik forum and happy shooting.

Beware of Dragons. For you are crunchy and taste good with ketchup.
Yes, that is correct. I am working on different color schemes and patterns. I’ll post the other side shortly as we are producing a double sided set for the hi point carbine

Right now I am thinking around $15.00 for the set. We plan on offering a customization option as well. That will probably be in the $17.50 range. The AR 15 plate will probably be in the $12.50 range and custom initials will be around $15.00. I have to add a little for custom as we have to manually add the initials, etc and engrave the custom ones one at a time.. Takes longer to produce... Remember though. Canik Fanatik members will be getting discounts... I hope to have the Hi Point and AR 15 plates to market within the next few weeks.
I took both guns to the range today and sent several rounds downrange to heat up the guns. Also left them out in the sun for a while to make sure the adhesive we use will stay put durning normal usage. The plates are self adhesive, you just pull off the backing, align and press on....

OK, drop me a PM note when you have them ready...thanks.
I sure will. Let me know if you have any particular designs in mind, that is why I’m posting. You guys get a chance to help design new products that will go online on amazon, Etsy, and our website. And be seen by gun buyers all over the world.

Hmmm. Let me think on this. I need a way to make my Grendel uppers and mags more easily identifiable for others.
I am sure that 22 Valkyrie owners may have the same problem.
Not sure we can do uppers, the plates while flexible may not do well on anything curved. But if you have a good flat spot I am willing to work with you on a design. Thanks

After some initial testing, we've narrowed down our first selection to the following 6 styles. 3 of which will be customizable with your initials. We plan on introducing several more styles including military as we move forward. We will be offering the AR-15 stickers in black / gold and Silver / black.
Again, I ask the members here for suggestions, opinions, etc.
Thanks

Almost anything that had USN and the Navy crest would be a seller to me.
I have loaded up the various branches of service logos, they will go out on the next batch of offers... I'll post them here when they are available. Appreciate the feedback.

One man's opinion; remove the custom text, center and enlarge the logo. Reduce size of bottom two lines. I could see below the logo having my Canikfanatik name being there.
If I'm in an urban firefight I sure as heck don't want them to be able to trace me based on my AR markings.
