Post by higgybaby » Mon Sep 14, 2020 6:25 pm

Latest update puts her path into Pascagoula MS.....25 miles away. We will hang on til the wind stops blowing.

Sally kept me from getting my yard done this weekend. I hope that's all as dramatic as it gets for you. Stay safe.

03:50 am a limb hits the house and wakes us. A quick inspection reveals no damage. Latest track brings the storm ashore in Bayou La Batre- which is about 10 miles due south of me. However........the weatherman says they are expecting the storm to shift more east and come in around Gulf Shores. Jim Cantore of the weather channel is stationed over there just north of the beach in Fairhope.

Update 8:30 am....the official track is now into Bayou La Batre, which is 10 miles south of me. But the local weather folks are saying Mobile Bay, which is 8 miles to the east.
Jim Cantore moved west to Gulf Port. He normally tries to get in the worst spot, so don't know why?
There is also some talk that this thing may start to fizzle out....that would be good.

At 2 MPH forward movement, either way it goes it's going to be one heck of a rain event.

Well, so far it's just been 25-30 mph winds and lots of rain. I hit the recliner and passed out for a couple hours. The official track now runs up the middle of Mobile Bay. If it doesn't get any worse than this- it wont be too bad. We'll see what tomorrow brings.

Wind is up to 38 mph with gust to 56, you can hear it. So far just a few limbs down....and plenty of rain.

How are things this morning? Any updates?

My company has a few locations in/around the affected area. Got to work this morning to see they had dropped offline.

Testing 1-2-3, can you hear me now?

We finally got the power lines back up and power turned on today. One of our trees fell across the road and took down the lines. Only trees down and debris in the yard, no damage. A/C and water heater working overtime, a hot shower is going to be nice.
Lots of damage south of me in Bayou La Batre and across the bay all around Fairhope and Gulf Shores.
The south end of Mobile and Baldwin counties had lots of flooding and and damage.

I was very fortunate..... whew.

Welcome back! Glad to hear it worked out well for you. I know there was a lot of damage around the Mobile area...
