Holosun 507c...fail boat

Post by Bfgloki » Tue May 21, 2019 2:34 pm

I was away last week visiting my grandson and got home to my Holosun 507c delivered on Friday by Botach. Ordered Monday. So not bad! Opened it up and read all the paperwork and turned it on....the reticle looks like it is being projected 3 times . I cycled through all 3 reticle options and you can see strange things are afoot at the circle k. I removed the battery , reset / turn on and off etc and still the same. I got a lemon. Booo! I reached out to Botach a few minutes ago and will see if they will make it right. If not I will have to pay to have it shipped to Holosun for repair. I sure hope Botach steps up and does the right thing. Guess I am practicing irons a bit more on the SFx lol

Well Botach answered quick:

Thank you for reaching out. My apologies you are having issues with this time. It sounds like it is a manufacturer defect, I would suggest reaching out to Holosun Directly and let them know the issues you are having. They should be able to exchange it out for you.
Thank you,

Holosun has been contacted and they are sending me a shipping label. Yay! But damn ... more as it unfolds.

Hmm, can you see if you can take any photos of the issue?

I got mine but haven't really had a chance to check it out.

Good thing though, Holosun should take care of you. I haven't had an issue with any of their products but from other stuff I've read online, they are great to deal with.

Botach has good deals sometimes but not the best customer service.

The pictures don’t show up. Not the best camera on my phone😕
But here is Holosun email to me:

Hello Ricky,

Thank you for contacting Holosun.

Please fill out the Holosun warranty form located here. Once we receive your completed RMA form, we will email a prepaid return mailing label to you which you can use to send your optic to us for warranty evaluation.

The warranty process can take as little as 10 business days from the day you send your unit out to the day you receive your repaired or replacement unit.

If you have any questions about the process, please let us know.

Best regards,

I'm interested in seeing how well the holosun warranty experience goes as I'm considering buying one of their green dot sights.

Ok now I am going insane. It’s been sitting next to me as I type all my stuff in to Holosun and now I pick it up and the reticle looks fine. Maybe first time warm up? I will mount it on SFx tonight and shoot it tomorrow to see if it is working. If it is then I am the failboat and just needed to let it warm up?

Beware of Dragons. For you are crunchy and taste good with ketchup.

Got mine out and everything looks good. Being my first red dot on a pistol, I hadn't realized how big that circle dot would be when held out where it would be when mounted on a gun.

I have the same circle dot reticle on a Holosun sight on an AR but you are much closer to the sight so the dot is much smaller. Something like this:

Anyway, hopefully Holosun takes care of you quickly if you do indeed send it in. Or perhaps it was just a fluky thing and never happens again.

Well I found I am not a red shooter, I shot much better with iron sights, no comparison as to targets shot with 1911 and Glock to the Canik with red dot. 2 to 1 larger grouping with red dot.
