Yeah, I know. Hate to do this to you but............

Let’s just say three shotguns since last Thursday. Two in layaway (410 bore) and one coming home in ??

Stay tuned.

You are correct Sir.

I’ve been selling off a few pistols also. $2600 in a week. Possible sale Friday on another which will be the last at this time.

Still need a break open single (Henry) and a bolt action 410. This will give me one of each style in 410 bore. Someday I’ll post some pictures. Had a bolt action Savage (LGS) I cleaned last week but it was rough. Not to my standards. Sold now.

Stay tuned, have a piece of cheese.

As promised my latest addition.

Customer at my LGS wanted to sell. The owner made the deal then called me over after the customer left. Interested? Well, maybe. $425 OTD including tax and FFL? You bet!

Barrel code reads July, 1973. Remington 870 Wingmaster 12 ga. pumper, upgraded lumber, vent rib and all day 98% condition. Discontinued in 1994. Why? It’s a lefty.

Check out the pictures. (My work station shown in pictures)

I have one of the more common models, bought used, and not in this condition; but runs great and very reasonably priced. The 870 is an iconic shotgun and the Wingmaster is a great derivative model. That price seems a tad high to me, but I don't know how much the age and LH rarity adds to the collector value. If I were a lefty, I probably would snap it up.

Valid point. According to current pricing in the 38th Edition gun values there is quite a bit of difference. The vent rib and round barrel. Let’s take a Wingmaster 870 with non VR barrel at 98% condition. (Discountuned in 1984) $260.00

Let’s take the same gun with VR. $560.00 plus $48.00 for LH. $608.00

Next would be the Claro Walnut which would of been an upgrade. Since this is not the engraved model the lumber had to be an upgrade although it is not listed. The engraved Claro would be $725.00. Listed as only available through Remington Premier Dealers it leans me towards special order. I cannot be certain.

Given the build date of 07/1973 and condition it was worth every penny. (To me) If you subtract the sales tax and FFL fee it saved $53.00. When I Smith for the owner I just run a credit. Had $110.00. $435.00 minus $110 equals $325.00 on my end. Couldn’t pass it up.

I need to reasearch the web some more and for now I can only go by the book.

Another older gun in nice condition, good buy if the lefty works for you, I dont have much interest in anymore shotguns but in that shape if it had been righty i may of gone for it.

Yes, I am LH but you are correct. Either side worked for me. I’m sure if I list this on GB and the fact it was discontinued in 1994 it should fetch twice what I have in it.

Safe queen now. I’d rather shoot a 410 bore at my age. ;-)

I haven't had any of my 12g pumps out of the safe in awhile, when I do bring a 12g out its usually either my SAIGA or the chicom knock off.

Rhetorical answer. I have no idea.

Serious comment (no, really): I am starting to lose track of mine as well and am questioning whether I need to stop...at least for a while. I know all the "can never have enough" arguments, but I already have more than I can shoot. Some have only been to the range once and have one box through them...and my rifles see very little action. I don't hunt, only target play for relaxation and fun...and practice for the event that I pray never happens (self defense). At what point does it become silly? I may already be there.

=))

Curiosity killed the cat, satisfaction brought it back.

9 shotguns.
8 rifles.
2 assault rifles.
12 revolvers.
29 pistols.
2 pellet rifles.

I just realized it’s not enough. :-?
