OK....

Pretty simple cutting out foam so the best option is the Pelican iM3300 Storm case, 55 inches for plenty of room. Have an electric knife but for 10 bucks I’ll buy a new one.

I’ll keep an eye out for a better sale as there is no rush to purchase. Currently $270.00 with free ship which is not bad.

Check your range rules before going to a competition. I don't know about the official high power rules, but our 1,000 yd range does not allow muzzle brakes in a match. They are simply too loud for nearby shooters when you have a string of 50 or so shooters about 6-8 feet from each other, even though you are outside.

Check local listings, you may get DQ'd before your first shot.

There might be matches but I won’t be in one for a while. Just go out first of week and when it’s all quiet and dial things in. I’m not sure how many spots but it won’t be near 50. I’ll space if someone else is close by. Thanks.

Bergara still manufactures the Premier. It’s the Elite model that is discontinued. The Elite was worth the extra coin with the upgrades versus upgrading the Premier.

I still see a few Elite models online. At some point I would like to buy a 308 barrel for it. Around $95.00.

Today is redo the scope day. Eye relief is way off, scope a little canted. Was hard to do in the LGS do to room size. Plenty of room down the street. The motorcycle lift makes a great work table.

I ordered a UTG keymod bipod. Liked it so much I ordered one for my DD AR15. Very solid, much more so than the Harris on a picatinney rail. If there is a down side removal is not as quick as a picatinney mount however the legs fold nicely for safe storage either towards the muzzle or receiver.

I ordered the longer model for both.

Since this is all new to me I did some reading this morning. First thing was to get the Leica out, figure how to use the thing. Ah, bright read Dodge Ram down the street. Showed 132 yards. Close enough.

My FOV was way off so I moved the scope mounts many, many times. Wasn’t worried about the scope and rifle being level. Finally I had a clear FOV from 9 power up to 25 power. Adjusted the stock for a comfortable length of pull. Leveled the rile and scope. Snugged all the mounts but still need to torque them down. All good.

I’m sure things will change at some point but very happy now. Waiting on one more Armmagetin shooting bag. Plans are a rile day at the range. Short term is to do my Browning T-Bolt 17HMR. I’m sure it’s way off also.

You can see the difference in mount locations.

Today was a redo on the Browning 308. Set the rifle in the vise and wait on the postman for low mount rings.

The Tipton vise is well worth having.

Image

Love long barrel rifles.

Image

Mounted the scope on UTG low mount rings. I prefer these over most due to the seal which prevents marking the scope and increases hold. UTG 4-16 by 44mm scope.

Image

Time to lift the garage door half way, read a 100 yards and set the FOV. Level everything up and be finished. The assorted shooting bags are Armageddon, USA made.

Image

I have learned something along the way. I prefer FFP scopes and lighted models. This one is SFP but will work just fine for the yardage it will be used for.

Found an old video of my wife and I shooting at 200yds. I really need to work on myself behind the rifle.
