I would like some nice stainless wheel guns. They are really expensive though. A 41 mag would be my 1st choice. I owned a S&W 686, 6" barrel 357 mag. What a beauty. It was a real shooter. I foolishly traded it on the all new Sig 229 in 357 sig. Somebody should have slapped some sense in me. I did learn from my mistake.
I love wheel guns myself. Ruger makes a nice SS in Bisley format. I prefer the non fluted cylinder.

This wheelgun was dis-continued back in 2011 I believe. Ruger still manufactures this model but in black only. I was lucky to find one at CDNN. 17 HMR.

That's nice. I also think the non fluted cylinders look so much better

Thank you. Non-fluted just look better.

Shouldn’t have any problem finding a 357 SS mag. Ton of those things around.

The one I mentioned in my wish list (if Taurus would ever actually start producing it...) also has the unfluted cylinder:

Although I like fluting, I think it looks pretty hardcore on a larger revolver.

Visited the LGS today...started the haggling for a Ruger 9mm carbine. He bought his stock earlier in the year, and probably paid a higher price than they are listed for online recently...I've seen $449. I may be able to talk him down to $500...in which case, I will likely pull the trigger. Online would cost me shipping and FFL charges, so twelve of one/half dozen of t'other...

Or maybe no tax and free ship.

Not sure of you State policy but here in Arizona we don’t pay the tax on out of State sales unless the business is also located in Arizona. (Example, Cabelas)

FFL fee is when you transfer. (As you know)

Thanks runeight...there is also the intangible of supporting the LGS and local business. I'm willing to pay a modest premium to buy from him...less than a mile from my house. If I had to buy out of town, I may get lost, hit a deer, run out of gas, get a flat tire, stuck in the snow, miss my wife or dog, or have a nervous breakdown from the stress of the aforementioned risks...I guess there are more intangibles than I previously thought... :-SS

In my fantasy world, it's an STI DVC open gun, or similar.
https://stiguns.com/product-lineup/dvc-open/
In a more realistic world, a Ruger 10/22 Target Lite.

I was looking at a SW M2.0 but bought the SF instead. I still want the M2.0.
Speaking of wheel guns, it jogged my memory. I do have a 50th anniversary 357 Ruger Blackhawk from CDNN. It's still in its red plastic case. I never did shoot it. Prolly never will be worth much.

Gun value guide lists the following.

100% - $600.00
98% - $365.00
95% - $320.00

Manufactured 2005-2006.

I don’t understand the big difference between 100 and 98 percent. Seems best to keep it oiled, cleaned and of course never fired.

They did make one with gold accents, trigger, hammer, highlights on cylinder. Considerable difference in value. $750 to $850.

Somebody else who wants to get their hands on a 692! Have you EVER seen one in stock? The only information I can find is from this spring's SHOT Show announcement.

Nice! Yeah, it's got that stinking Tracker grip, hate them. Not a lot of options for replacements on Trackers.

So the only questions are, 3" or 6.5" and, stainless or black carbon steel?

For me, 6.5" and stainless. Great home defense and fun at the range but I won't be carrying it.

Also, 6.5 and stainless here. I've wanted a larger revolver for a while and want to stick with .357 to avoid needing to stock any additional calibers. I bet shooting 9mm in this would feel like shooting a .22.

Would definitely be getting a set of these ASAP:

I shot a friends Taurus 357 something or other. Fun to shoot. But it just hurt my hand too much to enjoy it for more than a few cylinders. I found the grip was too narrow and really dug in to my palm. Don't know if he ever got a better grip.
