Setting up your Holster

Post by GlennSFX » Wed Jul 29, 2020 12:11 pm

Stumbled on this the other day and though I'd share it.
It discusses the proper holster angle/cant to ensure your draw will transition to your natural point of aim. I've essentially done this with trial and error, but this explains the easiest way to get it setup quickly. After following the video, I did make a slight rearward adjustment, and could feel difference!

Give it a try and see how well you have yours set up.

About a 10 degree negative angle feels very natural. I'll give it a try at Saturday's steel match.

"Arn't you glad auto correct didn't mess up that last word", it did. I won't tell you what it suggested. =;

Because your belt probably doesn't sit perfectly horizontal on your body, the holster angle will be exaggerated when the belt is off. Here's how mine looks with the holster angle set to the "natural point of aim" angle.

I loosened the screws enough on the Boss hanger so I could set the angle with the belt on. Then took it off to tighten them. Found that was the easiest way to get it set.
