After doing more research, I am not so sure I should wait to find a Rival-S Chrome & just get a Rival & customize it. :)

Anyone shoot both? Other than the weight and better trigger, what do we get? Not like one cannot upgrade the trigger on the original Rival...

What @2strokeYardSale said.

The trigger is the same. The Rival-S is just heavier.

Like 2stroke, I have both.

I have my Rival setup pretty much maxed out for shooting USPSA Carry Optics. I'm almost done setting up the Rival-S exactly the same way.

In the end, they'll be virtually identical. But, the Rival-S will be roughly 12 ounces heavier or something like that.

Yes. Neither trigger is better than the other.

I compared the steel Rival to the poly Rival in this review:
Nice job!

And I can't wait for LOK grips to come out with their fantastic grips for this "S" gun. It will complete the package, IMHO.

I don't know what LOK has in the works, but the factory grips do not give as much traction as I'd like.

I believe Taylor Freelance is also working on a replacement grip module. My expectation is that it will add weight. I will welcome that.

But, for extra traction, a replacement grip module is not going to do anything for the higher up area, where it really needs it.

I am hoping that Talon will come out with granulate grips for the S, like they have for the Rival. I really like them on my Rival. If they don't, I guess I will have to cut my own from a sheet of their material.

Talon doesn't go up high on the frame with their grip tape; Handle-It does. Things may change for the S, but I'm just going by all their other stuff.

You could get a LOK or TF grip and just DIY your own small piece of grip tape (frame tape) above it.

Thanks for this tip! Of course, I just ordered a Talon grip for Rival for my Rival-S last night... LOL

Have you verified if the Handle-It grip for the Rival also works well on the Rival-S?

Got my Rival-S today. installed the magwell, swapped mag base plates & swapped to medium grip. Can't wait to shoot it.

Regarding the optic plate included w/the Rival-S, I think it is RC04 if I recall right, that has a rear sight installed on it....Does anyone know if the optic blocks the rear sight or if you can still use irons when installing the Mecanik optic? I am not interested in not having irons at all. I want to be able to use both
