I decided after the last range trip that I really do prefer the short take-up of the FS Zombie Pro trigger in my Rival.

You're going to like the ZP in the Rival S. Let us know how your next range trip goes with it!

Which optics can I use with the additional plate that the rival S comes with that still has a rear sight on it that won't prevent me from still using irons? I'd like to not have to just use the dot I would like to also still be able to use irons

Looks Like I can use my Legion X5 guide rod and commander 1911 style springs in my Rival. Which… I have a few of, lol…

At the range yesterday, I decided I wanted to blow through 2 boxes of 9mm, 115gr ammo, new, bought a few months ago.
My Rival didn’t like it.. at all.
Made it through both boxes between my Prodigy and Rival with it.. then went back to my 124gr reloads. Zero issues. If I wanna run softer ammo, the ability to use a X5 guide rod and commander springs is nice.

However…
Not very encouraging as it pertains to the warranty call into service.
When I called Springfield for my Prodigy, I had a pre-paid RMA label in my email within 10 minutes.
A few simple questions, they advised me to ship via FedEx and look for a location that shipped firearms…

I’m kinda on the fence for changing out springs, especially trigger springs…. That kind of customer service doesn’t inspire confidence.
When you were using your X5 guide rod, what spring weight were you using for your 124gr loads? How long is an x5 guide rod? I have a steel P320 guid rod from Wilson Combat. It’s like 3.75”. I can’t get it in my rival-s with the 16# spring. not sure if the rod is too long or too short

I didn’t use my X5… I believe while looking on another site, they sizes were the same. But I never tried.
I did buy the W74 tungsten rod and I’m currently using a 14LB Wolff progressive spring.
I think I put about 50 to 100 rounds through it this weekend. I just picked up another pistol and am getting to know it.

I hope USPSA gets it's act together and Production goes to 15 rounds. I'd stay with irons too if it happens. IDPA (yuk) beat them to the punch.

USPSA and IDPA are different, for sure. But, I like them both. They both have some stupid rules. I'm okay with that. As long as everyone plays by the same rules, the game is fair and should be fun.

I also like that my Rival-S is now setup where it's legal for Carry Optics in both USPSA and IDPA and, speaking strictly about the hardware, is fully competitive in both without having to change anything but what mags and holster I'm using.

I have a Shield SMSc on the way for it, but not sure I want to bother. Might just stay with irons
Optic arrived. Still not sure if I want to stay with irons or not :))

For those who have one in hand, any idea of compatibility with TP9SFX barrel? I have a threaded barrel on my TP9SfX and was just curious if it would drop in or will I need to look for a new threaded barrel?

Also, any insights into accuracy vs the polymer Rival? I assume they should be identical, with the focus being on reduced muzzle flip.

Thanks!
A bit late with an answer but yes the TP9 SFX barrel DOES fit in the Rival S slide however it is slightly longer than the S barrel and sticks out the end of the slide about 1/4". Other than that it functions perfect and eats anything. The reason I tried it is that my Rival S is giving extraction problems with the stock barrel and the shallow chamber throat.......I know guys are saying load shorter bullets or buy shorter bullets but Im not doing that. I waited 3 months for the gun and want to run it in competitions but its not reliable enough with box ammo. My old SFX had over 30k rds thru it of all types and it ran perfect and this S was a disappointment. Ive emailed Canik to get their feedback bt no response yet. As a last resort I could have it sent out for throating myself but I shouldnt have to do that with a brand new competition gun.....maybe its just a batch of bad barrels since the problem seems sporadic and lots of guys have no complaints.....lets see.
