The freedomsmith isn't a necessity, a bit of improved takeup over the already-good stock trigger and changed ergos.

If you're looking to tune things for competition, read the 'weaponizing the sfx' thread on here, it has the steps you need for polishing and springs to get a light, clean pull

HUGE difference between the OEM and Freedomsmith trigger. IMO, it's worth it especially if shooting competition.

This is good advice. Even if you don't get the trigger, a few spring changes and some polishing will be a great improvement.
