I'm a new convert to Canik and I'm loving them so far save for one nagging detail... I can't seem to find spare mags anywhere. Usually when I get a new platform I like to have several spare mags for dedicated jobs (range mags, home defense, etc). I've been looking all over the internet for months now and haven't been able to find any Canik OEM mags. I tried some Promag offerings and was sorely disappointed in them (binding follower, failure to feed, etc) so I'm not looking to give them any more money.

Has anyone found a place that actually has factory magazines in stock?

Yes, gunbroker. Been stocking up on 10rd mags (just in case), and there are plenty of "normal" capacity mags as well.
Don't necessarily have to bid on them, as plenty of sellers have them listed as "but now available".

I'm in the same boat. There are literally ZERO Canik mags available from any retail outlet in America. I contacted Century/Canik directly and was told that due to EU lockdowns, Mec-Gar (Italy) couldn't produce enough to keep up. Century said not to expect to see any additional mags in the U.S. until at least July this year.

I won't buy any more Canik pistols until additional mags are available. My Elite SC was supposed to come with a 12 and 15 round mag. It came with two 12 round mags....

Your SC didn't come with a mag with an extension? Where did you buy it from? I would talk to the seller/gun shop and also contact Cantury Arms.

Regarding magazines, there are some available depending on which ones you are looking for:

Keep an eye here for 12 round mags

I managed to find 2 x 18-round OEM magazines on Gun Broker for a "reasonable" price. Mec-Gar now has the +2 bases available on their site, so I made them 20-round mags. Both Mec-Gar and Greg Cote both now show out of stock now.

I questioned it about not having the 15 rounder. I was told that there were none in the U.S. to add to it. ???

I bought an Elite SC recently and it came with one 12 and one 15. I have seen guns listed online with 2-12s instead, they seem to have a different SKU.

The 18 round mags seem to be the easiest to find, but even those are pretty rare right now. Factory 10 round mags are somewhat available on Gunbroker but who really wants those if they are not in a restricted state?

The biggest problem with buying them somewhere like Gunbroker is one has to be careful that the mags are factory and not the Pro Mags.

I bought a bunch of promags for the range, some seem to work fine, some are great if you want to work on clearing failure to feed and double feeds. I would never trust them in competition or with my life. If you do mag changes, always check the dropped mag as the bullets can/will get out of alignment from hitting the deck/ground. This could happen with any magazine I guess, but promags are especially good at it.

That being said, MA550 mags seem to be back in stock.

I bought 3 pro mags and they are completely useless. All three failed frequently. The follower is different than the real Canik mags. The round sits flat in the pro mags which causes the round to hang on the bottom of the feed ramp. I stretched the spring to see if I could give it a bit more stoutness and it helped a little. Very little.

Seem to be hit or miss, a few people here have had good luck with them my buddy bought 3 and out of them 1 works reliably, he's messed with springs on other two trying to get them to be somwhat more reliable. I've had enough experience with promag in the past i wont givem any of my money.

Nobody has had any factory mags @ all 4 quite sum time it seems, but i would really recommend checkin out Taylor Freelance to get sum bad ass, and more importantly high quality, VERY reliable mag extensions. All mine have run flawlessly, i tossed my dumpster fire of a promag once i stumbled on TF a few years back. Plus, hes got other really cool stuff for alot of the TP9 models like aluminum backstraps, low pro mag wells for EDC, n mag catch paddles n a bunch of other stuff.

Just received 2 of the 18 rd Mec-Gar mags I got from GrabaGun for use with my TP9 Elite SC, mainly for range use. I also had ordered a couple of mag extensions to fill the gap. Super impressed with them for looks, fit, and how well they match with the SC grip. They came from bloodywheelsusa.com, and he has vids on YT (bloodywheels) of his extensions installed on both the 18 rd and 20 rd Mec-Gar mags. I also bought his 15 rd stock mag extension to replace the original one. Check out the YT video if you're considering running longer mags in your SC.
