Since beginning to reload a few months back , I've reloaded nothing besides 9mm. This morning I set my .38spl dies and made 12 rounds to test out this afternoon. Hopefully all goes well .......

i hope that by at least after the new year, i can start reloading, with at least buying the equipment. i wanted to start his fall, but other things got in my way.

"jacketed wadcutters" I don't think I've ever seen one. Always plain lead, except recently I think I saw some coated ones on line. At wadcutter velocities, I'd wonder why? Plain lead has always given exceptional accuracy. So... interesting!

I gave some copper plated 148gr HBWC's a try a few years ago they shot like crap so went back to lead over 2.7 gr of bullseye and never looked back.

I have been reloading for 60 years. I really enjoy it when I get a new caliber and I am "Fine Tuning It". I happen to be working up a 357 Sig round right now.

148 Gn HBWC, over 2.7 Gn of Bullseye, I have no idea how long that's been THE standard target load for .38 Special! Can't go wrong with that!

Didn't make much sense to me either , my girlfriends dad ordered 1000 of them and we split the order , he said that's what they had in stock when he ordered.

They shot well for me from 30yards , I shot them out of my Dan Wesson 15-2 heavy barrel 6".

and this is just one of the few reasons why i'd like to reload as well. for adding to the sport in knowledge on how to do more.

I've been reloading for a while, too. Try making some .357 SIG from .40 S&W. Works great. I do use a Wilson Headspace Gauge and adjust the die to headspace off the shoulder. You do know that you can do the initial size in a carbide .40 sizing die, then neck size with a regular die, and never need to lube case, right? Sounds weird, but it works.
