You can tell by my "speed" that my upcoming entrance into the "Super Senior" category is well warranted.

Per rule 8.3.7, you are correct. I fired before unloading the firearm so it was legal. I misspoke.

Sorry it's not a Canik video. I was debating shooting my Rival because of the potential of malfunctions with this Open gun. The gun ran fine but two different magazines turned into salt shakers and torpedoed my match. I met Frank the Tank while I was working as an RO and one of his Canik mags failed on the same stage my 140mm mag failed. Interestingly enough, both he and Nils were using the stock Rival molded holsters.



Anyway, I'll be shooting my Rival more starting tomorrow.

Canik Rival in Carry Optics division of USPSA today

Canik Rival in Open division of Steel Challenge today. The pistol and related gear were Carry Optics legal, so Open division was just a formality.

This includes a slip and fall with the lightened trigger (FreedomSmith and all springs swapped).

I shot the local USPSA match yesterday. I had my new FTP Alpha 3 red dot mounted on my Rival. Carry Optic division.

Using my new action cam for the first time. I'm not used to having it yet, so I forgot to turn it on for 3 of the stages. So, only got video of stages 4, 5, and 6.

The Rival ran flawlessly except that I had 2 (IIRC) failures to fire because of a hard primer, I think. I recovered one of the rounds that didn't go off and it had a solid-looking dent in the primer... Anyway... here's some video.

We got rained out today. Go figure in southeastern Louisiana.

I changed the magazine release extension from medium to small after this match.

Just before the match started I changed from the 14# recoil spring to a 13#. I'm using the same ammo I use for USPSA matches, 147gr at about 880 fps.



The dropped magazine happened when I unintentionally pressed the (size smallextension) release with my support hand while poorly building my grip on a rushed draw. I'm not sure I want to remove the extension and use the release without an extension. I guess I should for steel challenge.

I took a couple of hours out and learned how to edit video. Woohoo!! Achievement Unlocked! LOL!!

This is basically the same video I posted the other day. Edited just a bit differently and then put together into one video, instead of 3 separate.
