Re: How to tell when someone in the gun store is full of it

"How to tell when someone in the gun store is full of it"..... When their macho young employee, not even an RSO, walks in the range to try and help a new shooter, and insists on trying to load the rounds into the magazine - SDROWKCAB . This was a about 18 months ago, and I had to walk back out to t...

Re: Newbie from MA

You'll love the DA. Even "out of the box" the trigger is great, and a real flat shooter. It's my nightstand gun, and I trust it 100%! Interesting how I often see mention of "RSA issues". Honestly, and more appropriately, I'll state it's "new Canik shooter ignorance". I'll include myself in that cate...

Good evening from a bit south in Hanover Park. :-H
If you ever have a reason to come down this way, I'd be glad to meet you at my stomping ground, Fox Valley Shooting Range. A real nice, modern indoor range; wife and I have a membership here.

Happy shooting! :-BD

Re: New owner from Houston checking in

Welcome!
Those were my first Caniks as well. The Elite is one of my main EDC guns, and the DA is my nightstand gun, and occasional carry.
Echo what's been said - great guns, great shooters.

Best wishes,

Re: Olight for TP9sf elite

I have the combo, and the light is slightly over an inch past the barrel, as shown above, and the switch housing hangs about 1/4 of on inch below the trigger guard - under the actual light, of course.

Best wishes,

Re: Holsters

You may want to check redxgear.com

I have his OWB holster for my Elite and the Baldr Pro, and like it very much. I know they have the molds for the mini & mini 2 - just can't remember if he has the SC mold yet. A few months back he said he was working on it.

Glad you all are safe. Im in NE Illinois, and it's hard t believe we are looking to get possible severe storms & heavy rains tomorrow through tomorrow night from this storm. Amazing how it keeps that much intensity and feeds off of other weather systems along the way where it can still wreak havoc i...

Great idea! My Instructor does that for us on 3x5's. Randomly places 1, 2, or 3 anywhere on the cards.

Re: New to Canik

Welcome and great choice! I love my DA, and sometimes beat myself up for not shooting it more often. It is my nightstand gun with an Olight Mini slung on the bottom. I'll occasionally carry it if I am not doing anything overly active and wear the right cover garment. Damn fine shooter! Three cheers!...

Re: Revisiting some old favorites

It has not been fired due to it being the "Blackwater Edition", which was limited, and has an interesting backstory to it. Believe me, I'm dying to shoot it, but everyone keeps telling me to hold on to it for it's rarity (somewhat). No that the value of the gun has risen to epic monetary value.... b...

Love the look of the Sig. Always thought the 22* models had a great look to them. I have a 226 "Blackwater" edition - never been fired.

Re: How similar are these two guns, really?

I've shot the Sig, and own an SC (well, my wife "owns" one :P ), and the Canik feels better in my hands. I like the SC trigger better, but that may be because I have the Elite as one of my EDC's, and may just be more intimate with it. The Canik feels "fuller", which I prefer, and my overall grip fee...

Re: Cleaning Canik hammer fired CZ clones

I have noticed that our three Caniks have more "nooks-and-crannies" to work your way into when cleaning, and they do take more patience to clean vs. my Beretta APX Compact & my wife's H&K VP9, for instance, which are super easy to clean. Most of our other guns are also quite easy in comparison too. ...

Re: New Smoky Mtn Concealment holster for my TP9DA

Nice! I've been thinking of getting a dedicated holster for my DA/PL Mini, instead of using one that was more specifically designed for my Elite with no attachment options. I'm off to check out what they have!

Best wishes, stay safe!
