Re: Favorite Lubricants for Your Canik?

LT, I'm the guy you DON'T want working on your car. I have a bad habit of taking things apart and not getting them back together again...with extra parts appearing from nowhere :P I am even afraid to swap the mag catch to the right side, since I'm a left-handed shooter. I've seen videos, people tell...

Re: Favorite Lubricants for Your Canik?

If I may ask this - I'm one who is only comfortable in breaking down the gun for the basic cleaning after a range session. Slide, spring/guide rod, barrel, frame. I have always used Hoppes 9 to clean the barrel with the brushes, then spray in Ballistol to swab it out thoroughly with patches. Being t...

Re: New member and new owner from Idaho

Love my Elite, even with no mods to it. Fits like a glove, and makes me look like I know what I'm doing! :-D I had to shoot a couple hundred rounds of 124gr NATO in mine to keep the slide from failing to lock back after the last round, that is with the original spring/guide rod. Century sent me a li...

The whole Turkey thing is just so appropriate. Great bit of fun and humor there.
Nice start, Glenn.

Re: Canik Elite Combat – Setting a High Bar

Nice to see the great review. My go-to guy at my home range walked me back to the display case to check it out. Real nice trigger, and it felt very comfortable in my hands. They had it marked for $700 and change. He couldn't believe that Canik was putting out a poly gun that high-priced, not being a...

Re: Springfield XDE now in 3.8" and 4.5"

I too held the 3.3, and liked the way it felt in my shooting hand, though I'm a lefty. If they made an ambi slide-lock, the 3.3, or even the 3.8 would be a serious consideration. The Canik Da is now the only one of my 3 9mm's that isn't ambi, and I vowed to not ever purchase another unless it was. L...

Re: New purchase at DACA show in Dallas Saturday

Would love to hear more about your purchase. This is one of four .380's we've narrowed it down to. Sheild EZ, Springfield 911, and Bersa BPCC being the others. The wife has held them all, but we need to find ranges where we can shoot them all. That color just about knocked me out of my chair! :-D Ne...

Re: Laser Bore Sights.

I received my LaserLyte (just the bullet, don't yet have any target accessories) last week, and it has really breathed new life into my dry fire practice. Whether I am shooting at various targets that I have up on doors and walls, or at light switches, door knobs, etc., my dry fire practice has been...

Ditto, appreciate the heads up. I recall you telling me about the Elite being able to use the DA mags, but hadn't pursued that as of yet.

Re: Hello from Nebraska

Hey Catch! I am just under a year into shooting, and the Elite-S was my first 9mm. I had shot a half dozen others 9's prior to purchasing it, but can state without doubt, it is the best shooter of all - end of story! Makes me look a whole lot better than I really am ;-) Just put another 200 rounds o...

Re: Smith & Wesson M&P Shield EZ

Thanks LT, yes - we are very aware of the SK. The challenge to work through with Sandy (my wife) is her comfort with the 9mm vs. the 380's. She has better overall control and consistency with the 380's she's had the opportunity to shoot, where with the 9mm's, not as much. I think it's a matter of ge...

Re: 2019 and Canik - What's Your Thoughts?

Dream world vs. reality I guess, for me. My dream would be to have the DA with front slide serrations, ambi-slide release (I shoot lefty), and the loaded chamber indicator on top of the slide. These three items would make it the absolute perfect 9mm handgun for me. Reality would be to throw their ha...

Re: Smith & Wesson M&P Shield EZ

Trying to decide between the Shield EZ or the the Springfield 911 for the wife. She likes the 911's grip and sights a bit better, while I think the EZ is much easier to rack with overall better functionality. Held them both and really pushed and prodded every which way. Have read, seen, and have bee...

Re: Hello from Georgia

" Here I thought you went and bought a SetilE." Made my night! I have the Elite-S, simply because I knew I'd instruct my daughter with it as her first 9mm at some point soon, and wanted that extra measure of safety. No worries for me; I've practiced quite a bit using my trigger finger to slap it dow...

3D "Bad Guy" Target Opinions?

Warm holiday wishes to you all, Looking to use up an Amazon gift card, I decided to purchase some targets that I would have been more hesitant to purchase with my own money. One of them was from Thompson Targets - a 25x38 3D Bad Guy. Was $22 for 10 targets (an ominous bald guy), and the 3D clip-on g...

Re: SAR-USA SAR 9 Review

Thanks for this review. I was pretty much all systems go on ordering one of these after reading up on and watching as much video I could find. Couldn't find a single gun shop with one in the store, so was going to take the gamble since it was priced so attractively. It all went south after I held th...
