Re: Hope all you "Panhandlers" are ready.....Mike is on the move.

Closest I've ever been was when Ike hit. I live North of Palestine TX, so it had just been downgraded from Hurricane to Tropical Storm when it passed my home. I lost power, and ended up talking the food from my refrigerator/freezer to my office and spending the night there. Lots of trees and limbs d...

Re: Striker or Hammer for Conceal Carry?

Both? I really like the DA/SA option, and wish more striker fired handguns were equipped with a decocker for carry. My normal carry is a DAO LCR .38, but I like a short SA option for more accurate follow-up shots. Unfortunately, there aren't many compact hammer-fired SA/DA options available. The Ber...

Re: Hope all you "Panhandlers" are ready.....Mike is on the move.

Co-worker's brother lives in Panama City, and he decided to stay instead of evacuating. Storm blew the roof off his house, and then it caved in. Fortunately, no one was injured, because they were outside looking at the damage when it happened.

When considering the G2C vs. G2S:

I was surprised to see the single stack S slide fit the double stack C frame perfectly.

Re: 9mm Carbine

No pics, but I have a Hi Point 995 with the TS stock installed aftermarket, and love it. I purchased it a few years back before they raised the prices, for about $180 new IIRC. Only problem was when I had a shell go kaboom out of battery, due to an out-of-spec gun show reload. Quick trip back and no...

Wow!
That's not just plain dumb, that's a special kind of dumb! His picture is going on the "banned for life" wall of shame.

Re: Just got new Taurus G2C

@ John_ Mine is the same way. I did find a video showing how to assemble the gun with a loaded round in the chamber, which, if done right, will leave the striker forward and trigger in DA mode, but it's not really a viable option. Just saying that Taurus my missed out on an opportunity to really imp...

Re: Just got new Taurus G2C

I'm starting to think about taking an emery board to the textured grip panels to tone them down some. Nice feature, I just realized that the rear sight, while polymer, is fully adjustable! That a welcome addition! (Compared to my father in law, who bought a new XDe and the non-adjustable sights were...

Just got new Taurus G2C

I saw the new Academy Sports ad this week had the G2C on sale for $199, so as soon as I got off work last night, I drove over and bought one. I haven't had a chance to shoot it yet so this is just my general impressions so far. As I knew from handling the pistol, I love the size and ergonomics. I'm ...

Re: Cool and dry.....

Cooled off a bit here, but we FINALLY got some rain. We've been in a bit of a drought with burn bans in the area. Didn't get any bad weather, but the rain was welcome.

Re: Buy it cheap, stack it deep

I've been buying enough to shoot, and just rotating that into my reserves. I still have my .22LR I bought when the 2008/2009 shortage occurred; those were the last Federal Bulk Packs I saw for several years. I've been picking up an occasional box of Mini Mags though to add to my stash...

Re: Fobus?

Posted this recently in a previous thread: I prefer the Safariland 578 GLS holster. I bought the compact model, that comes with interchangeable belt loops and a paddle attachment. Purchased to for a potential G2C or Elite S I'm hoping to add to my collection shortly. I found this holster fit my SFx ...

Re: Taurus G2S?

I haven't even seen a G2s in person yet. From what I've seen, it seems like the grip is where it's been slimmed down. The slide doesn't seem to be that much thinner than on the double stack G2c. Unfortunately, this is a heavily modded G2s, but here's a comparison alongside the double stack model tha...

Doesn't even need any mods! Enjoy it as it is! Run a couple of boxes of NATO through it when you first take it out. SFx and a steel plate target will make you feel like John Wick...

Re: Gun Wish List

I think the TPR9C is just a cosmetically updated Thunder 9 UC... I have the full size Thunder 9 Pro and it's a great pistol.

I got to handle a Victory last week. Looks great but grip angle is way too Glockish for my taste...

Re: Gun Wish List

Taurus G2C, because I want a compact double-stack 9mm for CC and that's the only one in my budget. My real wish list if finances weren't tight: 1. Walther PPQ SC, to fill the above role. 2. 6" Taurus 9mm/357 combo revolver announced at shot show earlier, but haven't yet seen for sale. 3. KelTec Sub2...

Re: Disappointed

I seem to recall a thread on here a while back regarding accuracy on these guns having to be broken in? Due to variation and wear of the Cerakote used in the finish?
