Re: Hi from NC

Yep, right down the road. What do you think of Topsail? My favorite beach in NC, just a huge beach at low tide. Close enough to Raleigh, very quiet, not many restaurants but the ones that are there are good, close enough to go to Wilmington but far enough that you think twice before leaving the bea...

Re: Need help for AR15 Take down pin

Thanks guys ,these comments is real logical and helpfull. I have all tools here , inculuded Accuwedges also. I know it is waste of money buy i just bought it. I know that they aren't supposed to help, but I bought a super cheap AR15 once that had a really loose fit and put one in anyway. If you hav...

Unfortunately, it has the price tag you would expect for something that has the words “Walther” and “match” on it.
Just to save everyone else the Googling: $1,570 at Buds. Whew...

Re: Need help for AR15 Take down pin

Agreed. Some fine sanding on the hole (1st choice) or pin (2nd choice, because if it upper specific, you don't want to touch the pin if you can help it) should be fine. Tests showed that you don't need a super tight lockup between the upper and lower (and hence Accuwedges are a waste of money). So i...

Re: Anything New and Cool in the Gun World?

MY LGS puts together an AR that they "designed" and build. They claim it is the best you will find for the money...every so often they take orders. Maybe I will have to have a discussion. But I think the Ruger Carbine is next. I built an AR10 in 6.5 Creedmoor last weekend. Been going back and forth...

Re: Say Hello to my new Friend

Ten years ago, I was seriously considering a Model 92, but never pulled the trigger (so to speak). I recently handled one and couldn't believe how large and heavy that it was compared to my memory. I guess I got too used to the weight and ergonomics of my Caniks, but even my 1911's seem more balance...

Re: 20 round magazine question

FWIW, my 20 round SFX mags have always worked perfectly in my Elite-S (although I have never pushed up on them when cycling at the same time).

I do need to get those sleeves, just for aesthetics.

Re: Why you should stay out of NY 3.5 year sentence for having 4 guns in vehicle

A bit more background. Telfair was already arrested once for a NY weapons violation, so this was a second offense for a gun crime in NY. Also, although he was a first round pick, he was considered a bust as he never averaged double figures and was traded a lot. He made $20M in his career, but as the...

Re: Why you should stay out of NY 3.5 year sentence for having 4 guns in vehicle

When they train you for your CCW, they typically stress that state laws vary and that you need to know the reciprocity states. I used to have to drive from NC to MD and sometimes even pass through DC. I either didn't bring my gun or stayed in VA and left it in the hotel in a locked suitcase. You DO ...

Still yearning for a Sub or SFX Mod2 though.
On second thought, there is no guarantee that an SFX Mod2 upper will be compatible with the original SFX.

Re: Fireball with certain types of ammo

You should never mix Fireball or any kind of whiskey with shooting certain types of ammo... Sorry, couldn't resist. Anyway, the slower powder is the reason. It is especially apparent in a shorter barrel, but probably not that much of a difference. The reason that LAX used a slow burning powder for t...

Re: Another run on guns and ammo?

It appears that the armed Israelis can open carry their AR carbines as long as the magazine is removed but very handy.

Interesting that the 7-10" pistols haven't caught on their as they look like they are going for the lightest options.

Re: Another run on guns and ammo?

I think that part of that is kids are being taught that identifying with a religion is bad. just like they are being taught how great socialism is. Most of what I've seen from school is lies of omission and perspective. I have more of an issue with my daughter's Girl Scout program. The Boy Scouts h...

Exactly my point. Flynn is still waiting sentencing on a single vague charge that he pleaded guilty to because Mueller threatened to prosecute his family as well and Comey will be let off of the hook for obvious felony leaking, among other far more serious breaches than Flynn was charged with. A doz...
