Re: Ammo availability

Judging from feedback in the comments, the Target Sports USA branded ammo is just S&B 115gr standard ammo for $17.99 (used to be $7.99, sigh).

Re: SHIELD RMSc red dot on Elite SC and TP9DA

It looks like the one in the Canik Turkish catalogs. I wonder if by attaching it you now have an illegal SBR. Gotta watch out for the law (oops, the ATF "regulations" or "rules" or better yet "opinion" or even more accurate "politically motivated as kissing depending on which way the wind is blowing...

Re: What features would you want on a new Canik model?

Well, a .45 SFx would be fine, my old eyes need the red dot but RMR equipped better 1911's run over $1000.

Again, a frame mounted thumb safety would trump a decocker for me, but that is a stretch goal.

Re: Ammo availability

Wow.

Target USA now has their own brand of 124gr 9mm! For $18/50. I am guessing that a name brand guy can't charge more than say - $15/box due to retail laws or something so they simply put it in generic boxes with the TSU brand and jack up the price.

Fascinating marketing going on here.

Re: What features would you want on a new Canik model?

A thinner SC. Glock bit the bullet and thinned their 9's. You lose mag compatibility but gain a lot more concealment. As above, a thumb safety. Sig and SW win a lot of contracts that Glock doesn't because a thumb safety is required. (Guns taken from police does happen much more than it should) Frame...

Having had my car broken into three times over the years, what you did was appreciated by the owner as you still prevented a theft from occurring. BTW, even with one caught on high res camera, the cops in ATL (it has always been when traveling to ATL) never even came out, they just issue a report nu...

Holy s**t!

Target USA just moved over a hundred cases of Sig 90 gr +P frangible training ammo at $480/case in an hour or so!

Because, you know everyone is dying to get 90 gr +P frangible (I never even heard of it before...)

To all of you newly minted reloaders, good luck getting primers...

Re: I almost did it....

Tough choice. The SR9c is smaller, thinner and lighter. Much harder to rack. Great trigger. Accurate. Can use any SR mag. Has a thumb safety. Easy to take down and clean. Great value for the money. The SC is larger, definitely will print larger if carrying. Much easier to rack. Even greater trigger....

Re: Models tested for 60,000 rounds

We kind of covered this in another thread somewhere, but consider that your expectations are to put $9,000 worth of ammo (60 cases x $150/case using good old days best bulk pricing) through a $300 gun. At some point, I wouldn't have a problem buying another $300 gun if I needed to (especially since ...

Re: Conceal Carry Insurance? US Law Shield

I agree with everyone. A mob on your street is a threat, even if "peaceful" (up until the second that they are not). The world right now is very frustrating, especially since the police are actually following orders to stand down based on the political party of the lawbreakers. However, you MUST fol...

Re: Ammo availability

I said "second" because 30+ cases in stock of other 9mm that I tried to order today sold out between when I put them in my cart and checked out (and all of my info is on file there, so we are talking less than two minutes or so.) Also, Midway had 500 rd cases of 124 NATO in stock, limit one, as of a...

Re: Ammo availability

As of this SECOND, Target USA has 147 Lawman for $330/case (99+ cases showing in stock). EDIT (10:55AM EDT): And.....they're gone. So in 45 minutes, Target moved in excess of 100,000 rounds of 147 gr 9mm. Looking at it another way, in 45 minutes either Speer or Target (or split) made about $15K MORE...

Re: question for the canik gurus

Almost definitely. However, the only way to know for sure is to try them. Canik's are designed for their stock spring setup and 124 NATO. With that configuration they will run forever. Changing things is fun but may affect reliability, so don't sweat it, IF something doesn't work just keep adjusting...
