Re: warranty shipping $115. !!!!! HEADS UP

I just took another gun to a gunsmith and he said his shipping is via the USPS because he's FFL dealer and its $20-30 depending on where its going. So that's a lot better. Shame on Century Arms Customer service people for not suggesting that. I have to agree that there is a lot of blame to go aroun...

Re: Low/Med/High compressed ready positions question

Very good advice. Imagine what would have happened to the gentleman in the second video above if he had been drawing from an IWB holster and shot himself. Interestingly, I am kind of evolving into a hybrid of HCR and Center Axis Relock shooting position. Not full on John Wick CAR, but with it I find...

Re: Greetings from homelands of Canik

Interesting ballistics. The muzzle energy and velocity of a 10mm, but with a little more than half of the bullet weight. It apparently sheds energy quickly, so it is combat effective to maybe 25-50 yards max. Household or property self defense would be a reasonable use, but then so would a good pist...

Re: customer service ?

Rolls Royce service beats Wilson. A hundred years ago I was riding in an acquaintance's Rolls and he explained that if you damaged any of the fine grained woodwork in the car, they kept the log that your car's trim was made from and fabricated a new piece so that the grain and color matched perfectl...

Re: Greetings from homelands of Canik

Thanks for all of this information, Zeda, it is very interesting. I wish I had received your opinion on Tisas before buying one (on sale and very cheap). I wasn't expecting much, it was supposed to be a learning tool for upgrading and working on 1911's without destroying my good Kimber 1911. For tha...

These low prices just mean that the SFX Mod2 is right around the corner.

NRA Show coming up, maybe some Canik announcements then?

Re: Turkish 1911 Review

After a bit of tinkering when I have had time, I have the Tisas running better, but not 100% reliable yet. I still get a half in/half out failure to feed every 2-3 mags. But it is definitely combat accurate (with the original barrel, slide and bushing). This is the first 8 rounds at the range at 7 y...

to big to carry and doesnt bring anything new to the table my full size caniks, cz's or glocks dont do except make me buy more mags as well. That's pretty much where I'm at. I want a Sar9, just because. But the addition of more mags is a turn off. But with all the aftermarket products coming out fo...

Re: New S&W M&P Shield with RMR

I wonder if Canik will move up their intro date for the Subcompact in response? (If they aren't considering it, they should.) The last thing we really need is something rushed to market.. RMR cut carry gun Canik is way late to the game no point in rushing now. It has been out in Europe (and I assum...

Re: Failure to eject

So I went to the range Friday and loaded 270 rounds into the mags but only 269 went bang! I tried twice more to fire the dud and it would not go. Nice, deep FP strikes on the primer, so the only conclusion is that even the mil-spec NATO rounds sometimes have a faulty primer.

Re: Cleaning elite combat

I have used Ballistol in the past as a gun lube and still sometimes use it for lubing brass (the little spray can also fits great into a range bag for a field lube issue), but only ever as a lube, not as a cleaner.

Re: 1911 Build: FINISHED!!!!

I got away with under $600 and have a serviceable railed 1911 that is combat accurate. So roughly twice the cost of the base gun ($329). I learned a lot, but I certainly wouldn't do it again and would buy a railed Kimber or Devil Dog for around $1,000 if I was going to bet my life on it (and still m...

According to Google Translate:

RI: Thanks! The sun sets blue on the Italian pretzel.

TP: Good Morning! Linda Gray was hot in her day, with anchovies.

RI: The Cowboys suck but Canik's are great!
