Canik firing pin breakage?

Has anyone tried to narrow down the firing pin breakage issue with Caniks? Does the problem go across the model range or is it an issue with a certain run of strikers for a certain model? You fellows that have had it happen what model of pistol did it occur in and when did you buy it? I got my Elite...

Re: New revolver

Unless you have a need for a 22 mag I'd not mess with it. If it's the tack driver that you say it is reaming out the barrel will probably widen your groups. If you really want a 22 mag get one and leave the Bisley alone. Then you'll have two nice guns. (edit) sorry I read your post wrong. that's wha...

Re: Excited for a trade

I had some issues with my SR22 at first. The rifling on the stock barrel was rough as a cobb and caused severe leading. Ruger replaced the barrel and the new one did the same thing. I checked around and ended up buying a Twin Tech OEM length threaded barrel, Much better than the Ruger version, a nic...

Re: Removing barrel from slide

Same here. My elite had a tight barrel and I had a little trouble at first but it broke in well and now no issues. Put a little oil on it and shoot it, it'll be fine.

3000 plus rounds through my TP9SF Elite. No discernable change since break-in. Good as ever. About half of them NATO spec.

Re: Holsters

I don't know though, it seems to me that an Elite Combat with red dot is a big heavy piece of steel to wear IWB. I thought about my Elite, but the slide is longer than my P07 and Walther P99c, so I don't think it would be very comfortable for me. It's not so bad just be sure to have a good solid gu...

Re: Holsters

One thing that I forgot to mention about Clinger. I ordered my no print wonder with all the extra hardware on Wed. night after it had closed. It says on the website to give them 3 days to make it. They shipped it the next morning and I received it via US mail on Sat. Can't beat that sort of customer...

Re: Holsters

Not to go against the current wisdom but you can also get the no print wonder from Clinger Holsters, It's a versatile system that you can change out the hardware and turn it into a OWB holster too if you wish. I find it conceals very well IWB. Crossbreed Holsters also makes some good ones to fit the...

Ruger Precision Rimfire Rifle .22 WMR?

Does anyone have any experience with the Ruger Precision Rimfire Rifles? I'm curious about the .22WMR version in particular although if you have the .22 LR version I'd like to hear about it. I'm looking for a really accurate rifle with a little more oomph than a .22 LR. I could go the CZ route but i...

Re: reading the current issue of Combat Handguns

Granted, I probably underestimated the cost. One of their 1911s or ARs or even the Beretta 92s would be sweet. Specs on the Glock though. Match grade barrel, check got that. Tough anti corrosive finish, check got that. 3.5 lb trigger with a crisp let off and short reset, check got that. Non slip sti...

reading the current issue of Combat Handguns

I was reading the current issue of Combat Handguns magazine and there is an article about a customized Glock. The mods were designed by Larry Vickers and performed by Wilson Combat (of custom 1911 fame). They took a gen 5 g17 (you could also order a g19) and stippled the grip, enhanced the trigger p...

Re: 2018's Best Handguns Under $400

The Ruger SR9C is under $400 and still a great gun. Have you ever had a chance to compare it to a Ruger American compact? I've been looking to get another Ruger, but have been torn between these two. I had one of the first RACs in my area.Probably the first since none of the local gunstores carried...

I voted no because all that I've changed out has been the sights. It mostly fits my hands and I can hit well with it. Why screw up a good thing? Night Fision black rear with yellow front btw.

Re: Good morning.....burrr- its 41 on the south side of Bama

I'm told that my grandmother had wanted indoor plumbing and that my grandfather (who I never met, died before I was born) was apparently a stubborn old codger and started in with "an outhouse was good enough for my grandparents and parents etc". So my grandmother, in the 1910s, wearing the clothes t...

Re: voted today

40 some odd years ago I wrote a paper for a class at Indiana University examining what the writers of the Constitution intended by the 2nd Ammendment. To do this I looked up the commentary of such men as Jefferson, Washington, Franklin, et al. It was very clear that they intended it to be an individ...

Re: Black Friday Wish List

I've been looking at one of those CZ American bolt action 22 rifles. There was a guy sighting one in at the range I go to and he was consistently getting one ragged hole groups at 25 yds. Like maybe 1/3 inch. He said he had 3 and they're all like that.
